Kate Middleton and Prince William: The Official Engagement Photos

Royal romance alert: Kate Middleton and Prince William have posed for their first official photos as an engaged couple.

Taken at St. James's Palace in London, the following pictures were snapped by Mario Testino, who said of the session:

"I am very happy to have been asked to cover this historic moment that the whole world was waiting for. They are in their prime and brimming with happiness. I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together."

The big event will take place on April 29... that is, if certain scandalous shots of Kate and her family don't ruin everything.

For now, plans are going ahead as scheduled.
