With 2010 drawing to a close, it is with much pride that THG unveils its 10 finalists for its prestigious, Fourth Annual Celebrity of the Year award.

These stars all gave us their best, their worst, their nude pics (sometimes) and their scandals (often). This month, THG honors that greatness. Following the posthumous ranking of Michael Jackson, we present Celebrity of the Year finalist #9...

... Danielle Staub!

It's important to get something straight, of course: we despise Staub. She's the epitome of everything that's wrong in our celebrity-obsessed culture.

Talentless, promiscuous and attention-starved, Danielle is solely famous because she has no shame. She'll do anything for publicity. But it cannot be argued that this strategy has made her a major player in the gossip game throughout 2010.

Think about all she will do or say to keep her name in the news. This is someone who swore off sex and starred in a sex tape in the same year! That's an impressive accomplishment. She also...

... helped make The Real Housewives of New Jersey the highest-rated show on Bravo.

... came out with a single titled "Real Close."

... accused her ex-husband of raping her on a bed of broken glass.

... pretended to be a bisexual.

... gotten fired from the same show she led to such strong ratings.

Will Danielle Staub make this list again in 2011? God, we hope not. But only you can control that, people. Don't tune in to her new reality show, don't purchase any tabloids with her on the cover and don't film yourself having sex with her.

If we all follow those rules, perhaps the next decade can be Danielle Staub free. A website can dream, can't it?
