Sarah Palin to American Idol Contestants: You Are All No-Talent Hacks!

by at . Comments

Yes, this is a real story.

In Sarah Palin’s latest book, America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag, due out next week, she takes on a number of weighty topics. Presumably.

According to excerpts leaked today, she also lambasts American Idol for fostering a "cult of self-esteem." You know, since no one tells the singers they're bad!

Ninth Idol

WE'RE #1! Sorry, Lee DeWyze, but according to some observers, you're not.

"No one they have encountered in their lives - from parents to teachers to their president - wanted them to feel bad by hearing the truth," opines Sarah Palin.

She says Idol trots out a "seemingly endless supply of people who can’t sing but are deluded enough to get in front of a national television audience anyway.”

[Rebuttal rendered unnecessary]

Does the star of Sarah Palin's Alaska think the show's judging isn't harsh enough? Or shouldn't exist because it encourages mediocre singers to think they're stars?

Is this really necessary or accurate? While some Idol products are bad, the show did produce Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry and other stars.

As far as the broader narrative (we think) she's going for, we sort of agree that kids are coddled nowadays, but ... we're still a bit unclear on what her point is.

In any case, Sarah needn't worry that everyone out there is afraid to tell the truth. We've totally done so regarding Willow Palin's homophobia. You're welcome.

I think Sarah is the most down to earth ad honest ever in politics. That is probably why she could not win President, because people seem to want to hear a bunch of lies if Obama is the answer to what is wanted along with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, who are about the most arrogant pin-headed people I have ever seen. I do not mean that in a disrespectful way. I am like Sarah Palin, I am honest also, so I guess I won't run. I would love to see Sarah run for Senator.

Palin's Facebook Target -- Apology NOT Accepted The man who was attacked on Facebook this week by Willow and Bristol Palin tells us he does NOT accept their apology ... claiming Willow uses homophobic language so often, she could be a homophobe. http://www.thehollywoodgossip....

Did Super Sarah really say that? HaHa. She is so cute. She is an American original, and the People's Princess.

It's not what this woman says that is disturbing, it's that anyone cares what this woman says is the crazy thing.

This has to be one of the dumbest, non-factual articles I have seen. Clearly, Sarah Palin was talking about the people at the audition try-outs, like Sex, William Hung, and the countless others who cannot sing, and not the actual contestants who make it on the show.

She should worry more about what her own kids are doing and leave other peoples kids to their own ambitions.

Um, Bristol is in the finals. The votes don't lie. She's obviously AMAZING at dancing.

@Shee: I also agree. Thank goodness Sarah took her own advice and said the same thing to Bristol when it came to dancing... oh, wait.

I agree with Sarah, most all of them are not talented, but a few of them have been really good. It is wrong for parents or whomever to tell the children how good they can sing when they aren't that good. The child gets hurt in the long run.

Brooke White's tears come from the authentic, good soul that she is. Her heart was breaking because she was overwhelmed with the experience she had with the show and the gift that it brought.
