What a Girl Wants: Christina Aguilera Files for Divorce

So much for naked Sundays.

Despite the inclusion of this event in the lives of Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman, the couple is splitting up. Two days after their separation went public, the singer has cited "irreconcilable differences" and filed for divorce from her husband of six years.

Expressing Herself

The couple reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement, as the divorce petition reads: "Earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation" will be considered separate property.

Aguilera is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple's two-year old son Max. In her statement this week, the singer wrote:

"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."

    I'm not too surprised. Christina Aguilera's song "You lost me" is basically about the hurt caused by a cheating mate. On her new album she also has a song called "I hate Boys". If you listen to the lyrics, it doesn't sound anything like something a person who's happily married would sing. Maybe Jordan cheated on her and they're just not admitting it.

    That is so sad. I also thought they were a solid couple. The fact is that too many people seem to be separating the minute they hit a rough patch, but reality check - the person you marry should also be your best friend, not just your lover and you actually need to work through everything together. The strain of having a child can really test your relationship and strength as a couple, too and if you can, try to work together and not walk when you are faced with challenges. I can only pray they will try to work on it, especially for their son. Of course, you should only stay together if you both believe it is worth it. Marriage is sacred. Getting married is easy, staying married is a real commitment and takes work, as much as you love someone.

    Oh Lord i tought they were one of the strongest couples ever cos they weren`t one of those couples which they want to be always in the limelight and posing etc like for example Heidi and spencer.Well i guess none of these Hollywood couples will stay toghether forever
