George Clooney Calls for Diplomacy to Avoid Genocide in Sudan

by at .

Simply put, as previously stated, George Clooney is awesome.

The actor, who jut returned from the Sudan, appeared on The Today Show this morning; not to promote a movie, but to promote aggressive diplomatic action in the region, as it faces a potential civil war and impending genocide.

"If we get involved now, we have a shot [at stopping it]," Clooney said. "The Secretary of State said it's a ticking time bomb. The CIA said this is the next genocide if we're not careful."

Emphasizing that all experts acknowledge "this is what is going to take place if someone doesn't moderate and mediate," the Oscar winner says he's "just trying to say it as loud as possible."

TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO WATCH HIM EXPLAIN THE SITUATION BELOW.
