Bill O'Reilly Addresses "Fiery Debate" on The View

by at . Comments

Yesterday morning, Bill O'Reilly was a guest on The View and got into such a heated exchange with Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg that those panelists walked off the set. Watch the confrontation unfold NOW.

Last night, meanwhile, the Fox News host addressed this "fiery debate" on his Talking Points segment.

Leaving the Set
O'Reilly on The View

Admitting that "I am often offensive, everyone knows that," O'Reilly defended his belief that a mosque should not be built near the site of 9/11 by saying:

“No one I know wants to insult Muslims, but many are tired of the political correctness surrounding the 9/11 attack. Did we say, in World War II, ‘We were attacked by “Japanese extremists”? [...] No: we said we were attacked by ‘Japanese.’”

For an intelligent man, that example makes no sense, of course. The leaders of a country choosing to take their nation to war is nothing like an infinitesimal percentage of the world's one billion Muslims planning a terrorist act.

We've also never heard O'Reilly lump all Christians together when an abortion clinic is bombed.

Still, Behar clearly acting unprofessionally, explaining her actions on her Headline News channel show with: “I thought he was saying something that I construe as hate speech, frankly.”

Take a side in this feud and then watch O'Reilly entire segment below:

Joy and Whoopi walking off the stage is an act of nonviolent protest. This stage is Whoopi and Joy's workplace. People are invited on the show by the producers. They invited an anti-semetic, racist, arrogant bigot into Whoopi and Joy's workplace. Why should Whoopi and Joy have to tolerate this type of bad mojo in their presence. Allowing someone like O'Reilly, Salahi, or similar people on the View is irresponsible. Society shouldn't give these kind of people an ounce of respect or legitimacy by inviting them as guests on reputable talk shows. I admire Whoopi and Joy's act of nonviolent protest of walking off stage. O'Reilly is lucky that Whoopi, Joy or Barbara didn't clock him. Maybe the producers will think twice before inviting someone like that to the View.

Someone used the example of an extremist christian blowing up the Oklahoma building. Let me ask you, what if Christians wanted to build a "victory church" on the site where the building was blown up? Someone else tried to use the reasoning that's it's better than a strip club... no, neither one of these establishments are appropriate. But at least a strip club isn't insulting to the families of the victims of 9-11. I think people of all faiths need to be more sensitive to what happened there, especially if you want people to tolerate your religion more. If christians blew up a Muslim building in a Muslim country, how long do you think a victory church would last if built next to the site of the atrocity? We all know it wouldn't get built... anyone trying to lay a foundation would be put to death on the spot by angry mobs; and rightfully so.

Too funny people would prefer a Strip Club to a Mosque, I guess that is where America is going. I am tired of people blaming all Muslims for 9/11. Does that mean all Christians are responsible for Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City bombing or all the crime in Christian American? Give me a break stop blaming a whole religion for the act of a few idiots. You can call yourself anything doesn't mean you are it. Bill O'Reilly is a hate mongering and just wants to peddle his book like everyone he is in it for the money and controversy. Lovely he got just that.

I agree with Bill. Political correctness has gone overboard. Muslims killed many on 911. Muslims need to accept that and do what is necessary to show Americans that not all are crazy extremists. It is totally disrespectful for Muslims to attempt to locate close to the 911 Memorial after such an incident and, frankly, any logical person would see how it would just add fuel to the fire of why Americans shy away from Muslims. Joy & Whoopie are asses.

The name of the program is called the View. Lefties like Joy and Whoppie believe their view is all that matters. They acted like spoiled brats and should be fired and replaced with someone who is more mature. Bill was right and they acted stupidly.
