Bill O'Reilly Addresses "Fiery Debate" on The View

Yesterday morning, Bill O'Reilly was a guest on The View and got into such a heated exchange with Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg that those panelists walked off the set. Watch the confrontation unfold NOW.

Last night, meanwhile, the Fox News host addressed this "fiery debate" on his Talking Points segment.

Admitting that "I am often offensive, everyone knows that," O'Reilly defended his belief that a mosque should not be built near the site of 9/11 by saying:

“No one I know wants to insult Muslims, but many are tired of the political correctness surrounding the 9/11 attack. Did we say, in World War II, ‘We were attacked by “Japanese extremists”? [...] No: we said we were attacked by ‘Japanese.’”

For an intelligent man, that example makes no sense, of course. The leaders of a country choosing to take their nation to war is nothing like an infinitesimal percentage of the world's one billion Muslims planning a terrorist act.

We've also never heard O'Reilly lump all Christians together when an abortion clinic is bombed.

Still, Behar clearly acting unprofessionally, explaining her actions on her Headline News channel show with: “I thought he was saying something that I construe as hate speech, frankly.”

    hi bill do you know anything about the drilling in siberia that they was drilling about 14kiometer and they drop a microphone and recorded sounds that was to be voices of hell. is this a true story? or madeup

    Joy and Whoopi walking off the stage is an act of nonviolent protest. This stage is Whoopi and Joy's workplace. People are invited on the show by the producers. They invited an anti-semetic, racist, arrogant bigot into Whoopi and Joy's workplace. Why should Whoopi and Joy have to tolerate this type of bad mojo in their presence. Allowing someone like O'Reilly, Salahi, or similar people on the View is irresponsible. Society shouldn't give these kind of people an ounce of respect or legitimacy by inviting them as guests on reputable talk shows. I admire Whoopi and Joy's act of nonviolent protest of walking off stage. O'Reilly is lucky that Whoopi, Joy or Barbara didn't clock him. Maybe the producers will think twice before inviting someone like that to the View.

    O'RIELLY, JOY AND WHOOPI WALKED OUT OF THE SHOW. OH, HE MUSTED SAID SOMETHING WRONG. WHAT A SHOCK.
