Taylor Swift to Kanye West: You're Still an Innocent

by at .

MTV viewers saw a new side to Taylor Swift at last night's Video Music Awards.

The singer went dark and serious for "Innocent," a song off her upcoming album, "Speak Now." Many believe it was written and performance as a response to Kanye West and the embarrassing incident that took place at last year's ceremony.

Check out the lyrics and rendition below and decide for yourself...

Sang Swift at the event:

"Lost your balance on the tight rope/it's never too late to get it back... Today is never too late to be brand new... Every one of us has messed up too. I hope you remember today's never too late...to be friends with you....You're still an innocent."

Look, Taylor potrays a young women how she should be betrayed. She CAN sing or I doubt that she would have sold so many records or for that matter have been signed. The fact that she stood up for herself shows her bravery and integrity because in that song she did not say one time Kanye's name. She wouldn't waste her breathe on an idiot. It's a song and this is a website. The world goes on. They dont call it Taylor Nation for nothing.

I usually dont like this sort of music but I think this song is very beautiful, lets you know that everything can still be ok, and thats a hard concept to hold onto in life sometimes.

Sara, I suggest that you enroll in English 101 at your nearest institution, since obviously the "classes" you took didn't really work out all that well for you. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Just saying. ;)

I would say she sung poorly and looked bad, but the song is actually good and quite touching really. I think people are being so harsh because they haven't listened to the song and realized it's not a dis... It's a song of forgiveness. You don't like decency, forgiveness, and grace? Fine, but that's your issue; not hers.
