Michaele Salahi is making it a little harder to hate her.

The Real Housewife of D.C. and notorious White House party crasher appeared on Fox News this morning and revealed a major secret: she's been living with Multiple Sclerosis for 17 years.

"My own family, my cousins, a lot of the people dearest to me, my best friend just found out," she said. "I think a lot of people do with chronic illnesses or any type of disease. I kept it personal because I never wanted to be judged, I never wanted pity and I certainly wanted to hold on to my job."

Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disorder. It is not contagious or fatal, but it's symptoms grow worse over time.

As they promote their book, Cirque du Salahi: Be Careful Who You Trust, Michaele (who will pose nude for Playboy) and her husband say: "We want America to know that you can still have a full, exciting and productive life even if you or your loved one is battling a debilitating, chronic disease such as MS."

SHE DOESN'T HAVE MS. THIS IS A PURE SYMPATHY CARD TO GET HER OUT OF TROUBLE AND MAKE AT LEAST 1 PERSON LIKE HER, HOPEFULLY! ABSOLUTELY BULL

"Montel Williams says he has MS and has had it for at least 25 years, no symptoms." - viewer12345 Not true... Montel has, actually, spoken extensively about symptoms he has had since even before he was diagnosed. Everyone responds differently to MS, and to the treatments for it. I have MS, as well, and am somewhat concerned that this Housewife's revealing she has MS might make people think she's some kind of representative for this disease. If she can actually do something positive in re this disease (ie, raising awareness, or funds for research), then fine, she's welcome to her spotlight. But if it's just some kind of pity-ploy, or attention-getting device, then I'm embarrassed...

Typically MS can be diagnosed via use of a specific MRI test which examines the spinal cord for lesions. These particular types of lesions do present a variety of symptoms which are quite often unique to each patient since the proximity of these lesions to the various nerves that become less functional is not the same for each person, although the lesions do dictate how a patient is affected, & to what degree.

I don't believe a word of this. MS is often misdiagnosed and people just THINK they have it. Montel Williams says he has MS and has had it for at least 25 years, no symptoms. How about Naomi Judd with hepatitis, or Glen Beck going blind. It's all publicity. The Housewives are all just ridiculous.
