It's Official: Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler Introduced as American Idol Judges

The worst kept secret in Hollywood is now official: Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will be the new judges on American Idol.

Following weeks of reliable speculation, both artists were introduced as part of a judging panel with Randy Jackson at a press conference in Los Angeles today. Lopez immediately set her sights as high as possible:

"I'm looking for the next Michael Jackson," she said.

Tyler was introduced to reporters as a "rock legend" and said his inclusion on the show feels "fabulous."

"[It] feels like the perfect feathered nest," added the Aerosmith singer. "It's being a part of something much bigger than yourself. I want to bring some rock to this roller coaster."

Near the end of the session. J. Lo did her best Paula Abdul impression, telling a crowd that included some Idol hopefuls: "I love you guys. I am so excited. It is about concentrating in the moment, do the best you can. Just live! Just live, it's your moment."
