Angelina Jolie Speechless, Horrified Over Pastor's Quran Burning Plans
Angelina Jolie may be dedicating time to the victims of massive flooding in Pakistan, but the charitable actress found a few moments today to speak out against Terry Jones and his unfathomable plan to hold a Quran burning rally on September 11.
Said Jolie of the evangelical minister's viewpoint: "I have hardly the words that somebody would do that to somebody's religious book."
Jolie shares the opinion of government officials, military men and anyone that understands the values on which America is built:
The pastor's actions could endanger troops in the Middle East and be used by terrorists as propaganda to fuel intolerant, anti-American sentiment across various regions.
As for the disaster in Pakistan, the actress has a message for people hesitant to donate money due to allegations that the nation's government is corrupt:
"I don't want some people to use it (corruption) as an excuse not to give assistance. I have seen what they have done in the field. I've physically seen people assisted, so if you are nervous about giving money directly in one way there are other ways to do it."

As for the real discussion: His acts are beyond words. Illegal, no, but definitely against his faith and everything this country stands for. Religious tolerance, refraining from the generalization of peoples from a particular faith, etc. Muslim extremists who twisted the Quran in the first place will use this one man's display of violence in their campaign against America, because whether we like it or not if we are a part of a whole we REPRESENT that whole. Good or bad. If Americans stand by and watch him do this, we deserve the bad reputation. Again, Jolie appears to be requesting PERSONAL donations and aid made by her fellow Americans. This isn't a budgetary update on America's financing of disaster relief in Pakistan.

To Faith Maguire: Ignorant Americans like you are the breeding ground for religious intolerance and wars. Your thoughts and your actions toward precious topics like these are the reasons why an 'attack' occurred on 'our soil' in the first place. You're clouding the issue. Religious intolerance is inexcusable, and who cares if they were dancing in the street? They weren't breaking the law so stop pushing emotional bias. That's not what our country stands for. If you want to treat people with prejudice, leave. As for what are country DOES stand for, we stand for people giving from their hearts: as in PERSONAL donations. The issue of how much money is donated to other countries by our GOVERNMENT doesn't matter. It goes from government to government. The aid we receive in the United States is misappropriated, that's why we have states on fire and millions of people homeless. So if you want to fix your government, go ahead. Don't stand in judgment of other nations.

Jolie can afford to rebuild the entire area herself. Personally I believe the United States has shelled out enough money to other countries due to natural disasters. It's time we take care of our own. We have two states on fire, millions of homeless, hundreds dead from explosions, etc. Where is our help?? Oh yeah..we don't get any. We take care of ourselves because our Government is too busy shelling out billions to every other country in the world.

To...lol You said: "This will evoke anger and hatred among the muslim community towards the usa and the christian community."
Ummm forgive me if I'm mistaken, but it was the radical muslim's that killed thousands of people on our American soil on 9/11. There is so much hatred in that community already. I'm not saying that it's right to burn the Quran in any way shape or form. No holy book should be burnt for any reason...but on 9/11 there were Muslims who live in the United States cheering in the streets when those planes hit the twin towers. Now you explain to me how that is acceptable. Once again we are suppose to bow down to the extremists and take what they dish out. No, I don't think so. I agree there should be absolutely no more blood shed, but your people started the 'terrorist war'.....and they continue to do so around the world. I don't know if you were born here or migrated here, but we as American citizens stand proud, strong, and together. The Muslims burn our Flag a

No dont use corruption as an excuse for not sending money....perhaps those images of Pakistanis burning the Stars and Stripes might just sway you not to. If the US has thus far sent $160 million in aid wouldnt yer think they might perhaps be just a little bit grateful ?
