Steven Slater Ends Flight Attendant Career in Hilarious, Illegal Fashion

by at . Comments

After over two decades of dealing with rude airline passengers, Steven Slater finally lost it today.

The JetBlue flight attendant was aboard a recently-landed plane in New York's Kennedy Airport when a woman got up prematurely to remove her baggage from the overhead bin. Slater approached the individual, only to be conked in the head with the suitcase and told to "f-ck off."

He responded by getting on the intercom and saying: "To the f---ing a--hole who told me to f--- off, it's been a good 28 years. I've had it. That's it."

Slater then opened the emergency hatch, grabbed his two carry-on bags - and two beers! - and jumped down the inflatable airplane slide to safety. At least temporarily.

According to The New York Daily News, Port Authority police were alerted to the incident and showed up at Slater's home in Queens, where they found him in bed with his boyfriend. A neighbor says Slater was smiling as the cops walked him away in handcuffs.

He'll be charged with 2nd-and 4th-degree criminal mischief; 1st- and 2nd-degree reckless endangerment and criminal trespass in the 3rd degree; and faces up to seven years in jail.

Sources, and Slater's own MySpace page, confirm that he's battled substance abuse. His father also recently died and he's been taking care of his critically-ill mother. Both parents worked for the airline industry.

Let's all hope Steven Slater walks away from this altercation a free man. After all, as Phil Catelinet, a passenger on the flight, said afterward: "I wish we could all quit our jobs like that."

Kong Says: August 10th, 2010 5:17 PM i think Steven just want to get out of the air craft immediately so he did that but was a big news..he is so brave! amazed. Do you realize that this idiot put ground crew and lineman lives at jepeordy by blowing out the emergency slide? This dumb ass is no hero at all. He has no self control, and no customer service skills. This guy is an absolute moron. Fire him, throw him in jail and throw away the key. I can't believe this country is making this big of a deal about this. This country needs a reality check. The people that are heros in this country are in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not assholes like this guy.

Who gives a shit if he's gay or not. I've talked with him. He was decent enough to ME. he is a bit quirky but who the hell aint.

i knew that this idiot had to be gay. only a goo gobbler would do such a stupid thing. and look at his disqusting gueer smile. i hope you enjoy your jail time and the bill to have that slide replaced, inspected and repacked, about $20,000.00 min. and the costs for any flight delay or cancellations.

And to think it all started with a carry on bag!!! Good luck Steven where ever you are!!!

If Steven Slater is to be prosecuted, the passenger must also face a charge of assault, if she really struck him with a piece of luggage. (Some reports say that the bag fell and struck him). The airline should certainly take some kind of action about her abusive behaviour towards a member of staff. What good will it do to send Steven to prison?

Great Stuff Steven. Proud of you Son. I can see it now. As an after thought you said, "This Bud's for me", and out you went. He Steven....see if the Post Office is hiring. It's been kind of boring lately and I think you make the grade. Good luck Steven and all the best.

Koodos to him!!!! He is the service industry's hero, he did exactly what all of us has wanted to do a million times over, to every rude, illmannered person who thinks people are beneath them, just because they are doing their job.....hope he gets off with a slap on the wrist!!!!!!

bebe: Steven Slater does not need psychiatric help simply because he is stressed. He should be commended for not punching the woman, who certainly deserves it. If you examined everyone who is stressed, you would need to check out every junior high public school teacher, policeman , air traffic controller, people who are getting foreclosed, divorced, etc. The list goes on and on. I don't think the passengers were traumatized by his action. In fact, I bet most of the passengers enjoyed his reaction. If I had seen that, I would have cheered. I hate to see people in the service industry being abused. Kudos to Steve Slater

I get it. Politically correct at all times, the customer is always right! Wrong! Rude people such as the indignant female passenger should be told off. If it weren't for the fact that the plane had already landed, she would have or should have been forcefully removed. If Zsa Zsa Gabor wasn't in the hospital, I would have thought it was her. I don't care if he is gay. NO ONE should be treated like dirt.
