Sarah Palin Defends Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Does Not Understand U.S. Constitution
Sarah Palin is really unintelligent for a major political figure.
We're not saying that because she's female, conservative, outspoken, etc. It's just true, as her grasp of the U.S. Constitution, or lack thereof, proves in spades.
The former Alaska Governor and current professional celebrity went on Twitter yesterday to give embattled radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger some support.
Palin's first Tweet: "Dr.Laura:don't retreat...reload! (Steps aside bc her 1st Amend.rights ceased 2exist thx 2activists trying 2silence"isn't American,not fair")"
Her second: "Dr.Laura=even more powerful & effective w/out the shackles, so watch out Constitutional obstructionists. And b thankful 4 her voice,America!"
Putting aside the fact that a person who wrote "2silence"isn't American, not fair" was nominated for Vice President of the United States, this is still nonsense.
To recap, Schlessinger repeatedly used the n-word in speaking with a caller that asked for advice on her marriage. This woman then complained about the epithet.
Dr. Laura naturally replied, on air, that "If you're that hypersensitive about color and don't have a sense of humor, don't marry out of your race." Crickets.
Her contract is set to expire at the end of this year, and with the backdrop of this controversy, Schlessinger decided not to continue her show when it does.
She wasn't actually fired, though it would have been justified.
You see, Schlessinger's First Amendment rights did not "cease 2exist" because she was criticized for berating an African-American or using the n-word 11 times.
The First Amendment, Sarah Palin, protects people from government infringing on our speech rights; it doesn't take away other Americans' right to criticize.
Nor does it stop a private business from terminating an employee or pulling ads as it so chooses. That's capitalism and freedom at work, baby! U-S-A! U-S-A!
That Homer, Alaska resident said it best: Worst. Governor. Ever.

doug says that Palin is right and knows constitutional law, while the critical poster needs to get educated. No, and I'm assuming the poster isn't delsional and arrogant enough to sett herself up as a candidate for VP, let aone POTUS,which is certainly her next goal.Don't forget that her lack of education in American history led to thisunbelievable gaffe in a discussion about th Pledge of Allgiace: "If it was good enough for our founding fathers, it's good enough for me." I think the founding fathers would have to rise from their graves and put their handson their hearts to recite it, since it was written in 1892. By a socialist, btw! Yes there are some very telling comparisons between the "Doctor" and t"he governor." Neither ever admits responsibility for their own words or actions Palin blames just about everyone in the McCain campaign except herself for her own gaffes and incompetence, and "Dr. Laura" has never been mistaken or said anything wrong in her career. What do you, all, think about the "Jade"? the Black woman who called doctor Laura for an advice? She was on Larry King Live yesterday. I understood from the interview, she knew what she was doing...she knew what to expect from Dr.Laura...it wasn't the first time she called the radio station. She even mentioned, she disagreed with D. Laura opinion on many ocasions before...It's almost like she wanted to bring Dr. Laura down, not to get an advice from her.
I never called anyone the " n" word, never, it's not in my culture...I grew up in a country with zero black population. It was in my twenties, when I firt time met a black person. In my home country we never use word 'black" when talking about people with dark skin, we call them "negr" , which is from Spanish- negro-black. The word is not offencive, it just a word that describes a person's race.
Now, I have Black friends, Asian friends...Polynesian...everyone is loved and respected..

Sarah knew exactly what she was saying and she was right. Find something else to whine about. Your ignorance of the law is no reason to give her a hard time about her intelligence.

You hit the nail on the head! Couldn't have said it better including the Hitler comparison. I have made that comparison to anyone who listens. It is the uneducated lemmings who follow Sarah Palin. The non-thinkers. And after the incident with the teacher - it's clear Bristol is just like mom.

Sonny Says that someone suffers from "jealousy and envy," (uhm, Sonny, they're the same thing). I get the biggest kick out of the Palin apologists who think anyone who criticizes her is jealous of her. I can only conclude that these people are reflecting their own feelings, not those of her critics. No intelligent person would be "jealous" of Sarah Palin. She is one of the most pathetic figures in American Politics. She was completely exposed in a book about the campaign she was part of as an undereducated, money-grubbing opportunist. She does not value education, so don't expect her to understand the Constitution. Her children don't even go to college. The scary thing about her is that she is very much like Adolph Hitler (uneducated and a bit unbalanced) and uses the exact same tactics as she does, appealing to the uneducated by stirring up negative emotions.

WOW!!!!! This is what we are at war for. It makes me sick to see people make such rude comments. I'm an officer in the military and yes I'm Black. In the battlefield a bullet don't give a crap if you are white, black red or green. I have lost my husband and my brother to this war and I still wake up and serve my country every day, so people can be kids and call each other names. Trade places with me any day and see what we say to each other after a bomb has blown up and your white, black, red or green friend has been blown to pieces.
