Now that she's officially divorced from Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren is spilling the beans on the end of their marriage and revealing her side of the story.
Having been silent for nine months since that fateful night in November when Tiger's affair with Rachel Uchitel was exposed, Elin is finally opening up.
"I have been through the stages of disbelief, shock, anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children," she tells People.
SHATTERED: Elin's life has been. But she says she feels stronger now.
Still, the former model and 30-year-old mother of two says "I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself."
"My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation," says Elin Nordegren, who is working toward a psychology degree. "I'm going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal."
Not surprisingly, Elin was wooed by everyone from Oprah to that blowhard Dr. Phil to People with a chance to tell "her side of the story" for BIG bucks.
"Elin hasn't responded to any of them," a friend hers revealed. "She hasn't said anything and doesn't plan on ever talking about this awful experience."
"Elin is a very private lady who never once wanted to be in the spotlight like so many other wives of sports superstars. She was thrust into the limelight by Tiger's selfish actions and now look forwards to going back to normal."
Somehow, People got her to open up. But don't look for her to make the media rounds. She'd like nothing more than to disappear from the public eye.
With the estimated $100 million she reportedly got in the Tiger Woods divorce, she will be able to buy a little privacy if nothing else. Her primary concern, obviously, is the welfare of kids Sam Alexis, 3, and Charlie Axel, 18 months.
Reports say Elin will stay in America, rather than return to her native Sweden, at least for now, so the children will have as much normalcy as possible.
"It's very sad that it has come to this," an insider says, "we all hoped they would be able to work it out, although Elin couldn't look at him anymore without thinking about all the different women he had been with."
"In the long run she will be fine, but at the moment she is still very hurt. Thank goodness she has the children. Without them ... things would be worse."
