Miley Cyrus on New Movie: Edgy, Different, For Mature Audiences
Miley Cyrus is getting ready to LOL.
The actress will co-star with Demi Moore in a dramatic movie that finds her struggling with relationships and with the divorce of her parents. Those that tune in each week to watch Miley on The Disney Channel might wanna stay away, she recently warned in an interview.
"The next film I'm doing is not for the [Hannah Montana] audience," she said. "But that is why I did the last season, for my young fans... I have to choose scripts that are right for someone who is 18 because that is me.
"It's very different going from a show with a huge audience and fan base to something... independent. But I'm excited to work on a film that is going to touch people. It's edgy and different and I don't know how the fans will react, but it's something I can relate to."

Wait... no profound cliches about how one must live a happy life? An admission that she's risking alienation among her core fans? No ridiculous quote about how this movie will empower women!?
Who is this person, and what has she done with Miley Cyrus?!?

Wow. Leah, nice work! And sorry if l sounded like l was attacking you in my latter post, l was just wondering if your facts were straight.
@Hollywood... you really are beginning to sound like her manager or advertiser! You really are trying to get me to watch the movie, but l still say No Thanks though, l made that decision way before l even heard the critics! Seriously, dont take it personally, l have nothing against Mileys acting its just that lm not into sitting for +/-104 minutes, watching Drama or Romance or that kinda thing... its just not my personal preference of spending time, heck the last time l watched Drama was probably when l was 14!! But if Miley does some action, thriller etc then yeah l will watch and you will sure be one of the people l will tell what l think of her acting skills, for now l will just say The Last Song? No Thank you Sir!

So you see @Cliff? Thanks to @Leah's hard work and giving the devil it's due---you can plainly see many said "bad, don't see-it." While others said,"good-job,go see-it"...Which all falls back to what I said: See for yourself. Nobody can see what you see and no-one can feel what you feel. By The Way---I'm heavily into the action, epic's and wide variety of films,but---I never let that stop me from checking something new out from time to time. Critic's say what they're going to say and I never let them sway me one way or the other---I know what I like. They don't...Thank You @Leah for both sides of the coin. That looks-like a lot of work. We are still on opposite sides of this debate, but I can still appreciate the time and effort you put into your posts---good job. That's all for now. Later y'all; Hollywood---out...

I don’t get it! I really don’t. In her day Demi made some decent movies, but CYRUS! This country is so brainwashed if they think someone like Cyrus has any talent either as a singer or an actress. Disney boxed her, wrapped her and sold her as this corny Hannah Montana chick. The show, for kids, is OK at the most, but to continue funding this kid’s career is obnoxious, insane and just plain brainless!! Good luck to all of you morons who think she has a future. I can’t wait to see her fall on her face as she trips over her over-inflated ego!!

My personal favorites:
The one by Matt Pais and Christopher Tookey, those were funny!!
But seriously, movie critics can be really harsh guys, especially when a Disney Tween does some acting apart from The Disney Stuff, however, hooray for Disney, The Daily also said in relation to Ramona and Beezus----"Not just a Disney Princess There." with reference to Selena Gomez!!
I dont like Miley but lm sure most of her fans loved the movie... which sadly conforms to what Anna Smith said

It also didnt do well overseas....

"It’s pretty watchable, mainly thanks to strong performances from Kinnear and Coleman. Cyrus, sadly, fails to convey a broken heart"---Roz Laws Birmingham Post
"Anyone but Cyrus fans will find this one of the more inferior Sparks adaptations -- and yes, that includes Nights in Rodanthe."- Anna Smith Time Out

"Disney starlet Miley Cyrus becomes an early contender for worst actress of the decade in this painful attempt at a romantic tear-jerker." Christopher Tookey Daily Mail [UK]
However, the writer, Nicholas Sparks thought Miley did a great job,

Well, l am glad you loved the movie Hollywood, Miley clearly knows how to entertain her fans!!
Is @Leah right though? About the ratings, did it really get 3.4/10 or is she mistaken or something??
Well, actually l didnt watch it not because l dont like Miley but because its not really my scene (lm into action, epic that kinda thing) so l guess l will never really know... My girlfriend however, is the one who watched it and that was just relay on what she and her friends told me, maybe her friends and those rating people just didnt get it!!

@Reese: That's quite okay. My apologies also---I'm a little harsher sometimes than I have to be. Just take your time when you type, think it through, and then post---you'll do just fine. Thanks for the response on @Nash and @Mark---I appreciate the support. We'll talk later. That's all 4 now; Hollywood---out...

@Cliff: You may have heard correct about Miley pouting and looking annoyed, but do you know why? Her character 'Ronnie' was a teenage girl who was mad at her father for leaving the family. She resented being made to come and stay with him for the summer(though she never suspects the real reason, which changes her attitude greatly). Plus, she 'Ronnie' has recently been caught shoplifting,so she feels her whole family doesn't trust her and looks upon her as a thief. She's filled with anger and resentment. THIS character is SUPPOSED to look annoyed and pouting all the time. I happen to think Miley did a GREAT job. The only problem I had at first, was they said her character was coming from New York when Clearly Miley is as Southern as Grits. I had a big problem with that. Movies are about selling the illusion, and as much a Miley Fan as I am(and I really am)I wasn't about to buy her being a New York native and it threw the movie a little off for me at first. It would be like if her Godmother D
