Robert Pattinson Defends Kristen Stewart, Slams "Nerds on Blogs"

Ouch, Robert Pattinson. Ouch.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly for its upcoming Eclipse cover story, the gorgeous actor was asked about Kristen Stewart's comments last month, where she compared the paparazzi to rapists.

While Kristen herself saw the error in her word choice and maturely apologized for it, Rob stood up for his rumored girlfriend and pointed the finger at, well... us.

"That whole system of Internet journalists, where no one is called to account, is almost entirely about hate," he said "All these people get away with doing it because they have no responsibility to anyone... there are so many little nerds behind their computers, on their little blogs."

Having Her Back

Don't worry, Kristen. Rob has your back.

Pattinson may have a decent point overall, but this wasn't the ideal topic to express it over.

Stewart clearly over-stepped with her reference to "rape" and can often come across as ungrateful for her lot in life. But she dealt with that issue herself in the aforementioned apology and this doesn't seem to be a battle she needed her man to fight on her behalf.

The pair were seated next to one another during this interview, though, and it did lead to one of Stewart's funniest points to date. After Rob finished his rants, she said:

"See, if I said that? Crucifixion. You can say so much more than me. It's insane...you could say, 'I just took a s***on the Queen's face,' and people would be like, 'Oh, I love him! I love him!'"

Ha! She's totally right.

P.S. Rob, we prefer to be labeled as "geeks," thank you very much!

Yeah definitely, they are people too, let us consider that there are people who are haters and some are not, its anybodys opinion you know, it doesnt matter, we must accept the fact that you cannot please everybody, you must expect it that there will be haters out there who just don't agree or like what you do.

Wow!! I have been wondering what "nerd" comment Rob made that has some still upset with him all these months later. How ridiculous some can be!! I don't mind at all that he defended his friend. I would have too. I can understand how KS feels. I heard about her comment through mainstream media not bloggers. I don't think Rob meant all of us are nerds. Just those who cause trouble and drama out of nothing. I will defend Rob and his personal feelings. He does have a right to express his opinion, too, after all.

    These "geeks"
are the people getting these spoiled little celebrities the attention they need to stay in the public consciousness.By the way, Pattinson, don't flatter yourself. You're no Taylor Lautner--he's the truly pretty one in all of this.

You go Rob, everyone have something againt KS but it's jalousie, she is great, I love her acting and her as person, there are so many cellebs that hate papparatzi you can't eat, shit, shave, drink, walk, drive, jog, without picture take and posted all over and all the bullsh*t they write about them, firts they are not toghether, then she's pregnant then he dumps her then he stands up for her, wow what a shitty life to be famous when people can't just accept you, love and support you in your movies, the rest has got nothing to do with us, why nog publish the truth about all the cellebs, I love all of them in twilight saga because it is great movies.

I hate to be the one to break this to you kids, but Robert is exactly right. This is how the real world works....we write stories for websites, we get paid by the click. The more outrageous the story the more people click on it and the more money we make. There is absolutely no responsibilty, if a website likes your story they run with it, no matter if it's true or not and they don't care either way. Those are the facts. Although Kristen was a little out of line (not much) nobody can blame the poor girl for feeling the way she does. The paps do go too far to get the shot, but they are just doing their jobs as well. They get paid by the photo. So it's all about money. And yes internet bloggers like you and me made a big deal out of her choice of words. Then main stream media picked up the story...which was absolute B.S. and ran with it. That's why she recanted. It's just that simple.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

All the media hype made this mediocre franchise with its mediocre actors into superstars. They have to take the good with the bad sometimes. People arent always going to love everything you say or do just because you are in a cheesy vampire movie.

He's right! Why does the general public have to know every detail of celebrities' lives? They're just people who can act and are sometimes hot. Don't you think they deserve some privacy? I mean, can't we just appreciate good acting and leave it at that? It's just a job. They already have to deal with crazy fans, and the media contributes hugely to that.

She's exactly right! guys get away with so much more than girls. this is the point miley cyrus was trying to make a while ago, and you made fun of her for it.

  9. Twilight fun big fan

What rubbish. It was originally reported in a magazine interview she did and was not only picked up by bloggers, but respectable news agencies. He was defending her comment by saying that it was blown out of proportion and thus really saying an apology was not needed. Also, these two have used the media to promote their movies and their are they aren't they personal lives. Don't start complaining now, there are plenty of actors who avoid the whole celeb world. In addition, people don't hate her, it's just that every time she opens her mouth, she says something retarded - case in point ___ on the Queens face. What she should have said was, I have addressed this comment already and apologised in the media, can we please move on and he should have kept his trap shut.
