Queen Latifah Praises Chris Brown, BET Awards Tribute; Says Singer "Needs to Be Forgiven"
Queen Latifah is on Team Chris Brown.
The star's performance at the 10th Annual BET Awards Sunday, which she hosted, was "amazing, just amazing," she raves. "Not only was it a knockout performance, but his heartfelt emotion ... you can't plan that, you can't write that, it's just truth."
Fans have since argued what the truth actually is - specifically whether Brown's Michael Jackson tribute on stage was genuine or a shameless attempt to exploit the late King of Pop's legacy for some badly-needed positive PR.
The Queen says it's time to forgive Chris.
Queen Latifah has Chris Brown's back.
"He is young guy, he made a big mistake and he needs to bounce back from that. And he needs an opportunity for a second chance," she says. "We can't condemn that kid. He's a kid and he needs to correct the mistake for the future, not live in the past."
"He needs to be forgiven. Enough already. We can't keep beating him up. She [Rihanna] is going to grow, he's going to grow and we have to allow them both to do that."
What do you think?
Is Latifah glossing over what happened or are people being too hard on Brown? Has the public scrutiny gone on too long, or is it just part of what Chris must bear?

It’s been extremely obvious since the ‘incident’ occurred that the media began a radical slur campaign against Chris. No one takes into account the two previously recorded incidents that were revealed in court both of which claimed that she hit him first on multiple occasions and not once did he hit her(in one case it’s claimed that he pushed her away from him, and in another smashed a car window but not once did he hit her.) it was reported for two years that she was beating him up and because he finally snapped on her he’s suddenly been proclaimed a monster. Yes he was wrong, but so was SHE. This is the fact that people seem to forget and it’s not as if the man tried to convince the world that he was innocent. HE PLEADED GUILTY, owned up to his part of the situation in every interview and has since been trying to turn his life around. Since then every bit of good he’s done has been slandered by the media. First his charity work is blasted as a publicity stunt to get bac

It's this type of tolerance that has killed so many women. "He said he was sorry." If it were your daughter or sister that had been in that car and beaten within an inch of her life, could you still forgive Chris Brown? It was pretty convenient to have him break down and cry in front of a live audience with the cameras rolling. Hell, I'd cry too if my CD's weren't selling and my Visa was turned down in Europe. Can't make money sitting on his tail. When CB is dating someone seriously and potentially long term and that particular young woman says he's truly changed; then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Am I the only one who thinks that it's funny she used the term 'can't keep beating him up'. Great choice of words there...not!

Still love her, but she looks dumb in that crown and African medallion in this day. There is nothing cultural about her anymore.

I think everyone makes mistakes and completely agree that people need to get over this situation! And whoever said it first... it takes two.

I agree with Queen Latifah and I give her massive respect for not taking the easy road and bashing Chris Brown as so many other sinners have down.We are ALL sinners. No one on this earth that is of age can cast a stone on anyone. If someone opened the door to our closets, massive skeletons will shake like an earthquake.
I keep hearing people say that Chris 'beat' the he!! out of Rihanna,Obviously those that say that have never seen 'real abuse victims'....
Someone spoke on how your father beat your mother, well you need to take that up with your father because Chris has nothing to do with that.
Another person spoke that"Chris can burn in hell for all you care".Sounds like you need to worry about your own dwelling in hell due to the fact that you and others that think as you do feel 'you can actually condemn someone....
I wish Chris good energy........

We have to remember that two people we're involved in that unfortunate situation a year ago. It takes two to tangle. However everytime I see a picture or video of Chris Brown, he is always smiling. It appears that his spirit on the inside of him projects something Good.Unlike other artists I see looking hard and mean. Chris Brown projects a positive spirit. All the people that has negaive things to say about chris have had failure and misfortune as well. Stop the Negative talk about Chris Brown.
