@Hollywood: You seem to be a loyal Miley fan and I admire your passion, but if you think THIS is Miley as she wants to be, you're 1,000% wrong and misguided. She is nothing but a packaged pop star. Every interview she's ever given says she hates pop music and never listens to it. She was packaged before as a Disney princess; now she's packaged in the same way every artist is packaged when they wanna reach a new audience. It's just derivative and boring. I hope you see I never use the words "slut, skank, whore" or anything close to that - I simply find Miley utterly redundant now, a clone of Britney and so many that have come before her. She's unoriginal, and, really, that's the worst quality I can think of for an artist.
I can tell you're trying to make good points, but they all fall apart at the initial premise: that anything about Miley's career is how she wants it to be. In no way, shape or form is she doing her own thing. She's a corporate drone in every sense of the word and co

You are absolutely correct. Disney put her in their mold and now you want to put her in your mold. Who cares what she wants. After all, you know better then anyone else what her future should be like. To borrow a couple of your words; your viewpoint is pompous and pathetic.

THG and @KK and all the other misguided out there: First,@KK: If you want to agree with this twisted THG crew--go for it. It's a free country(somewhat). But as for "What do we say to these girls...?" You're supposed to tell them to BE THEMSELVES,not follow celeb's...Hannah Montana was Not Miley's creation. She did not go into it with the idea of being Hannah FOREVER. It was merely a great vehicle a persona, to carry her out to the Public,so that she could make a name for herself, then, once she out-grew Hannah, she could go do what she really wants to do instead...While with Disney, and that show---did she act the way they wanted? For the most part---YES. Did she perform in the manner that they directed at every event they put before her---YES. Is she now doing her own thing, and performing the way that she wants to? Oh Hell YES! I mean seriously--does anyone remain the child star characters they portrayed on some family-friendly show they started out on? Say---Dana Plato from Diff'rent Str

miley has changed alot after her hannah montana episodes...she's just 17 with alot of young teenagers wanting to be her,and wanting to look like her.. but now she makes her concerts like one of those lady gaga and rihanna kind of videos...
i dont think any of her fans would like to see her as a wanna be rihanna or a wannabe britney... since i am too a fan of her..

This is the FIRST article i have actually agreed with about miley and her recent acts. It's sad to say that sex sells and if she didn't choose sex she wouldn't be as popular. Personally i'm 17 and i hate that sex or semi-sexual performing is the first thing pop astists choose when they turn a certain age(Ex: Rihanna). I have a 6 year old niece still adores miley still, but i want her remember that miley is getting older and she isn't hannah montana anymore. Thankfully i can say that miley isn't her role model, That's my job, I have to be the best woman i can be for her b/c people like miley won't be here forever.
What i don't understand is why is it ok that she dresses so scantily-clad? So far all i've read on youtube and other blogs is that "oh every 17 year old dresses like that" That's a lie b/c i definitely don't dress in skinpy outfits, and if i were a pop singer, i'd be a little more caring about my body. I wouldn't wanna show the whole world it. But hey this is her choice right
REALLY!

This is like the 5th time I have seen "randyjacksonsbutt" trying to make some type of point about Miley Cyrus, for one any intelligent argument that you make is completely moot the second anyone looks at your user name, really are you a 12 year old boy or something, second your sitting on your computer calling a 17 year old girl a "whore" so what kind of example are you making for the younger generation. That its okay to call teenage girls "whores" and its okay to cyber bully. Really if you’re going to continue to try and make relevant arguments i would suggest you clean up your mouth, and get a new user name!

@Mileyalltheway ... Seriously? Your actually going to stick up for Miley? She goes and performs this slutty dance act with same sex kissing on an entertainment show that is meant to show acts that can perform to the Queen. It is also a family based show. Full credit to Miley, if she would have sung 'The Climb' without the full 'let's try and copy Lady GaGa so I totally look sexy because that is music nowadays' gimic then she would have been amazing.
Yeah, your right her fans will follow her. But lets not forget about three quarters of that fan base is under 11's who will now be dancing happily to the 'Can't Be Tamed' dance singing 'because I'm hot like that'. They take inspiration from her. Miley knows that. So why does she go around wearing nothing. I cannot wait to see what my little sister will grow up to be...

It seems to me that Miley's fans are sort of like Fundamentalists. They follow their idol no matter what. If Miley became a Satan worshiper then they would as well. It's sad that they can't critique art without the bias of their famed idol like a true American should do.
PS - Just last year I praised Miley as a real role model for young girls but now it just seems that she is a sellout that will do anything for money. Basically a whore.

it doesn't have to be so black and white with everyone and Miley.
In case you didn't realize, Miley is very aware of herself as an "entertainer", a "performer"
she talks about it constantly. And just because she has chosen to wear clothes similar to other "performers" doesn't mean that she has really changed as a person much at all. I mean do you honestly think Miley has suddenly changed? I mean, c'mon, you can watch her interviews in the UK and see that she's basically the exact same person--she laughs, and makes funny faces, and talks 100 miles an hour, etc. etc. BUT she has made a decision to dress for her performances like SOME of the other older female performers. simple as that.
I think people should only really begin to grow concerned about Miley if she starts drinking and doing drugs, and clubbing, etc. etc.
now if she starts doing that, I myself will begin to worry about her. Until then, I'm not worried at all, and neither should you be.
and imo you shouldn't be "disappo

@mileyalltheway: you're not really a fan, are you? do u even listen to what miley cyrus says? She absolutely does NOT want to be a pop artist. She's made that clear over and over and over.
You also just made THG's EXACT point: Miley's fans will follow her no matter what. Therefore, she had a chance to pursue the music she actually wants to pursue (seriously, go read her interviews, get a clue), keep her huge fan base and sell albums. INSTEAD, she sold out to the pop music gods and became just another Britney. That's exactly THG's point.

you just can't shut up!!!! miley isn't hannah montana anymore...but she's not britney either...she's herself and she's just starting her transformation to the person and artist she wants to be...let her make this choice without your useless and so very misguided opinion..oh and just so you know..i'm pretty sure all of her true fans will follow her no matter what!!!
