Heidi Montag: Crashing With Cougar Zank?

She says she's legally separating from her husband, but is Heidi Montag really just putting us on and crashing with Cougar Zank, Spencer Pratt's good friend?

More importantly, is Cougar Zank his real name? If so, that's hilarious!

According to Radar Online, Heidi is currently staying at the Malibu home of this strangely-named individual, a former Marine-turned-bodyguard and bit actor.

He befriended Pratt earlier this year, lived in the house rented by Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt in Pacific Palisades, Calif., and was even seen on The Hills.

“He is helping me write a script,” Spencer told Life & Style recently.

So what's Heidi (allegedly) doing staying with this dude right now?

This is Cougar Zank. We think. We're not sure. It just came up on an image search. If it's not, sorry ... but either way, we're jealous of the dude's dashing good looks.

Heidi Montag and Jen Bunney, another former Hills regular, have announced plans for a new project. “It's going to be the best summer of my life!” Heidi Tweeted.

When contacted by the celebrity gossip site at the new pad Heidi and the Bunney moved into, and asked what he was doing there, Cougar Zank responded:

“This is MY house.”

So are all these events - Heidi leaving Spencer, moving in with Bunney, signing a lease (possibly the smoking gun) and filing for legal separation - a sham?

For what it's worth, the most recent photos of Spencer Pratt was of him jogging on a trail not far from this very same Malibu house. Makes you wonder.

Heidi and Spencer's separation is ...
