Based on a red carpet photo from earlier this month, we know that Brooke Mueller is alive.

But her rep says his client isn't just breathing in air - she's also doing very, very well!

"We spoke yesterday. She's doing great," Elliot Mintz told E! News. "Just this week she went sailing and had dinner with her kids. We expect her to be back within the next couple weeks. No rehab, no falling off the wagon."

Mintz is referring to the fact that Mueller checked into a stress management program a couple weeks ago, which set off alarms for those who believed she was back on the sauce.

Other family sources, meanwhile, confirm that Mueller is residing with her two sons in a rental home on a coastal property in California.

"Brooke just needed to get away because she's being bombarded by everybody with what's going on with Charlie," said an insider. "It's driving Brooke crazy."

Will she and Charlie Sheen ever reconcile? After all, divorce papers are already drawn up. Says this friend:

"I don't think either one of them are talking about whether they are getting back together or not right now. I think it all depends on what happens with this court case, he's pretty bitter about it. That's why Brooke wanted to get everything in place."

Well, sure, Sheen has every right to be bitter. He held a knife to the throat of his wife and has been punished by it with a raise from CBS and an eventual sentencing of almost three whole weeks in jail!
