Really, Kristen Stewart?!? Actress Compares Paparazzi to Rapists

by at . Comments

Look, Kristen Stewart. It's refreshing to find a humble celebrity that doesn't desire fame or attention. We understand you feel that way.

But show business has also provided you with millions of dollars, the chance to make a living out of your dream and a gorgeous boyfriend. You simply must calm down a bit.

This message needs to be said because the Twilight Saga actress has gone a step too far her in anti-fame agenda. In a new interview, she compares the experience of being photographed to a rape. Yes, a rape:

"I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can't handle it. I never expected that this would be my life."

Fame Hater

Stewart continued to dig her hole deeper:

"What you don't see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction. All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up... Your little persona is made up of all the places that people have seen you and what has been said about you.

And usually the places that I am are so overwhelming in the moment and fleeting for me - like, one second where I've said something stupid, that's me, forever."

Kinda like now, Kristen?

It really is nice to see a young star go the anti-Kim Kardashian route and shun the spotlight. But if fame is really this awful for you, K Stew, get out of the business or ligten up a bit. You can't have it both ways.

Recently, Lady Gaga mentioned in an interview that if you don't want the paparazzi following you, it is very easy to do, with the proper security people and a little ingenuity. SHe actually said that those stars that get chased by the paps are allowing it. With Kristen, this picture on the web showing her with a cigarette dangling from her mouth and TWO middle fingers in the air, is just an awful image that her YOUNG PRE-TEEN FANS will easily see on the web. The worst of it is that it was taken when she was on a hotel balcony. If she didn't like their presence, she could have turned around and gone inside. I have also read that she uses foul language. Bottom line, if the paps take your picture, your young impressionable fans will see it and you should behave responsibly.

To compare her invasion of privacy to rape is insulting and indefensible to all rape victims. I am also taken aback by pictures (yes, I look at them, damn it) of her toking, flipping off photgraphers, smoking, and drinking. Whether she likes it or not, she is being scrutinized by young men and women who see someone they want to emulate involved in harmful activities. At 20 years old.

Honestly...she's a bit right. She probably could use a better word for it, being that rape is such an understandably sensative issue, maybe say she feels violated, but really...we have no idea what it's like to be hounded by those photographers. I'm sorry, but the whole "you want to be famous, deal with it" excuse is overrated and getting old. How would you feel if someone watched your every move and made money off photos of you?? We enjoy their movies and love looking at their pictures, but the second they say they want privacy or complain that they are being hounded we go on attack. Seems a bit extreme.

Oh & as for you calling her rude, she's not. She has every right to say what she says. You don't like it get over it, & piss off.

I think she is right, the paparazzi have gone to far, let all celebs have their fucking privacy. If they don;t want their picture taken, then walk away, don't hassel them. How would you like it if I followed you 24/7, taking pics, & asking you a million questions. you wouldnt like it so stop.

she's just rude, nothins a surprise with her anymore. she cant help it she's ungrateful.

A little hyperbole is understandable from someone her age, under the circumstances.

There are many interviews where Kristen has stated how much she loves her work and is so thankful for the fans. She knows how fortunate she is. By reading statements from many other stars, they all feel angered by the intrusiveness of the Paps. Look what happened to Princess Diana, being chased by Paps, and there are many other accounts of close calls, where people could have been seriously hurt. Their taunting, agressiveness is not okay. Just because you are a public figure, doesn't give certain people the right to bully, intimedate and direspect you for a picture. Why do we pay big bucks for something so distructive? It seems to be this way in all parts of our society these days. It's crazy!!!!

I think we should all avoid her and her movies and let her fade off into the sunset. She is a no talent waste of time anyway!

I completely, absolutely, 100% agree with Johnny Noir. You are one of the paps if you disagree.
