American Idol Eliminates Casey James, Sets Up Lee/Crystal Showdown
American Idol viewers made the right, obvious choice last night, sending Casey James home.
The long-haired singer has come a long way since being depicted as nothing but eye candy for Kara DioGuardi, but he was clearly the worst performer on Tuesday and reacted to his elimination with humility.
"I can't believe it, man," he said after Ryan Seacrest delivered the bad news. "I'm so thankful for the opportunity. It's been an amazing journey and I'm just so honored that I'm here."
We're now left with Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, not the most exciting final pairing, but one that should keep fans guessing about who will win next week.
Bowersox has been considered the favorite for months, but Lee has come on on strong recently, earning as much praise as any contestant all season for his rendition of "Hallelujah" on Tuesday night. We'll publish a more detailed finale preview in the coming days, but sound off now:

As usual, the results show also featured a pair of professional performances, which may explain why your ears are ringing this morning. The screams emanating in the arena from Justin Bieber fans can still be heard in many homes.

This season was a too obvious manipulated to put Lee and Crystal to the finale. Only few knows that Casey was not able to sing the song that he chose because of the switched- last minute change that Casey cannot sing the song he wanted and Casey has no choice but to sing Ok it's alright because it's already Monday and the show is on Tuesday night. They sabotaged Casey to really make him like a real loser with his song choice. It's hard to pick a song for a last minute change. They really set him up. Anyway, have it their way- they can manipulate the show.

The season isn't a bust but it's hard to choose between Mamasox and Dewyze! Rueben Studdard..probably was a bust.....and did the silver fox win one year on the American Idol..heck, it's hard to keep up with it....but can you believe it has been on soooo long. And will rock over that stupid Bachelorette this summer...new show please!

One of the best idols ever! And thanks to Casey James...I had tears in my eyes when Lee and Crystal visited home...and then Casey in that final number wowing the girls and holding his niece??who was that kid...he probably should have gone back to wowing the girls..but in the end, it's family that really matters!

The worest idiol ever,and it is the fault of the judges, they send home the goog singers and keep the not so good ones! If Lee wins, it is a set up on last week show, by giving him a choir, beleive me, he could have done a lot more with that song, his redition was just so,and so. I realy do not care who wins, everthing about the show is poor, Paula should be there!!! I do not think ELEN brought any thing to the show............

Good, at least they're getting to the end. I stopped watching a while back. This season can't be over quick enough. TO ANY CASEY FANS: I have nothing bad to say about Casey, it's just this season was the pitts, and it was the judges fault.

season is over....judges made their choice, giving Lee a choir to accompany him.....lol...why, maybe to cover the yells and soften him up?? who knows, maybe the bad song choice for Casey (and last minute change of Casey's personal song choice to that humdrum diddy)were planned as an escape route for the guy. Whatever the case, Crystal may not win....yet, who cares. Who will even watch?? The season is a bust...
