I cannot respect him because he doesn't respect his audience, and children who may be watching him. @queertyboarder, I'm not so sure that deleting comments is the way to go. I think the comments that are made should stand because it reveals the bigotry that is still so alive, and well in this world. If those comments are deleted it is the same as sweeping it under the rug. I want those ignorant b**tards to be exposed. Lift up the rock, and reveal the snake. I became upset when the staff at this site felt the need to argue with Adam's fans about defending him, and then ignored the comments that were so cruel and hateful directed at Adam, and other gay people. When they ignored those comments they unknowingly gave their stamp of approval to them.

I'm not the kind of fan who freaks over everything negative about Adam. I didn't post in the original article. I just don't care that much. But, you're quite right, your headline was ugly. Very sensationalist. It almost cried "ADAM LAMBERT FANS... COME EAT OUR FACES!" And then they came out of the woodwork to eat your faces. Duh.
If you said the same thing about almost any other popular celebrity, same thing would have happened. Bet you.

The people on here saying Adam is a 'primadonna' and making sick comments on his sexuality is the reason fans hate the inflammatory headlines. It just brings these creeps out! Are fans too defensive? Maybe - but internet makes people think it is okay to say really derogatory, prejudiced things. It isn't!! but what goes around comes around - so I guess it is what it is and they will get what they give.

I laughed when I read your column because it is so true........ and I am one of those fans who hate when Adam is criticized. It just seems that he has been so unfairly judged at times, that when anything negative is said, I bristle. You are right about how he would feel about that,I am sure, he has even said that his fans should have their own lives and make their own excitement, but it's tough tearing yourself away from Adamland. The sad thing is I do have a great, exciting life on the outside, but every day must contain some Adam or it is incomplete. By the way, I am 30, well educated, and should know better. Thanks for adding a different, amusing point of view.

Wow..I am impressed. This is the first time I have EVER seen a site come back and explain their position. I have to admit I totally dismissed you earlier as just another fire flammer to get hits at the expense of Adam Lambert (who gets way too much hate thrown his way). Actually when I saw the headline I didn't bother clicking on it. With headlines like those inflamatory ones it just brings all the homophobes and haters out of the woodwork. They suddenly feel empowered and start spewing their nonsense all over twitter world and posting on every blog in site.

Reporting facts is good, making inflammatory headlines will always bring out the fans (for any mega star). Maybe you could err on the side of caution going forward?? A large portion of Adam's fans are incredibly intolerant, negative and disrespectful to anyone who has an alternative opinion. It's so opposite what Adam is all about. I'm sure Adam loves their money and support, but he must be embarrassed. Can you imagine being a young, gay celebrity and having a bunch of older women treating you like you are an idiot son? Grabbing at you at concerts? Attacking anyone they don't agree with on comment sections in your defense? Rabid is an understatement. Psychotic is more like it. It's very weird for adults to worship a celebrity on the level they do. They need some serious counseling...or a lives worth living.

I am a huge Adam fan!! I do feel like I have to defend him constantly, I think he is an incredible Talent and he gets so much hate it is unbelievable to me. I had no idea that supporting Adam was gonna be so hard! I will support him forever. I do appreciate your article and believe alot of what you are saying. It is hard to ignore the hate when it is so mean. Adam deserves to be treated with Respect...he never disrespects anyone!! I want to help Adam not hurt him...What should we do? Ugh....please don't justify his bitchy behavior. Selling a little bit over 500,000 albums does not give him room to talk. Sure he can say whatever he wants, but that doesn't mean he is a better person because of it. I like Adam, but this comment he made was clearly out of line, and he is not as big of a mega celebrity as everyone thinks he is. If he were to apologize instead of defend his diva like comment, then that would make him a much better person in my eyes. Sorry Adam, love you, but you need to do the math, (four times platinum to 500,000) and be more humble about your success.
