Dear Adam Lambert Fans: Chill Out! Comments (Page 10)

If Adam's fans who have followed him closely since the start don't come to his defense, who will? Who calls out those you do paint him wrongly in the press, blogs and tabloids? Is it wrong to come to the defense of someone you admire and care about? It's really no different than defending a friend from an onslaught, a child or family member who is bullied. You come to their defense. There is nothing wrong with that, and everything good about it. I bet more people would like to have that kind of undying support in this world!

Hm. So, you claim to be calling Lambert out and then take offense when someone else calls you out? Honey, if you're going to dish it out, you'd better be willing to take it. Gossip blogs exist to get hits. You got your hits. Move on.

Who cares what he says about Susan Boyle. People make a big deal about the most littlest things these days. Yes he has an opinion and I agree with his opinion. I'm not a fan of Susan Boyle's music either. And besides people always tell other people we should be ourselves and that's what Adam's doing and he doesn't give a sh*t about what people think about him and I like him for that

He may release a single we dislike. When that happens, we're gonna call Adam out on it.
Just like he called Susan Boyle out on a single of hers he didn't like? Susan has never asked for any special treatment. I'm sure she wants nothing more than to be analyzed and commented on like any artist out there. :)

While there is certainly an aspect of Lambert's fandom that is overly protective of him, I have no interest in coddling Adam Lambert. Nor do I think every word from his lips is special, important, or perfect. His words are often unfiltered, which makes for great fodder for the media, which is quite happy to use his words, actions, pictures and "mega celebrity" to generate hits to their websites and therefore, advertising revenue.

If Adam should be prepared to deal with the fallout from his words, then the media outlets reporting on it with their own particular slant and word choices (e.g. "Adam Lambert RIPS..."), should be prepared to deal with fallout too.

I must say, "Kudos" to you, however, for not resorting to the extortionistic RockStar Weekly tactics of telling the fans that if they don't treat the media outlet properly that said media outlet will start spinning negative stories about Lambert. So points to you for having some journalistic integrity. Do be aware, however,

Fine. You have a point. Celebrities are going to sometimes say things out of turn (or have their original words misquoted), and gossip sites are going to have a go at them. It's the law of the jungle.

On the same vein, if Susan Boyle went through the time, stress, and trouble of competing in a talent competition, then gets the same opportunity to put out an album, she's going to be held to the same standard as all other celebrities, too. Everything she says or does will be scrutinized and criticized by other people, and Gossip blogs will write about it. It's the law of the jungle.

What's blindingly unfair is that you guys are criticizing Adam Lambert fans for defending him against what's looking to shape up like a lynch mob against his daring to say anything against Saint SuBo. Ms. Boyle is being treated like a pitiable, pretty-singing porcelain doll, exempt from public comment and controversy lest she shatter into a million pieces, when she's nothing of the sort.

@Katie: We acknowledge that Adam SAID he was misquoted, but we also write he never provided an alternative version of his words.
By all accounts, he DID say everything we posted. He just said it in jest, which we acknowledged in the initial post and which isn't the same as being "misquoted."

Is a trashy gossip blog really getting defensive about being "unfairly" criticized? Seriously? That's what you do for a living - unfairly criticize people. Get over yourselves. I also love how you acknowledge that Adam was misquoted, but then reserve your right to attack and judge anyway. My cynical self asserts that you wrote this piece simply for more hits. Enjoy!

True enough and I agree about fans needing to chill out, but are you honestly surprised? Every major artist has a pack of rabid fans that will jump all over any blog that criticizes their favorite artist; this isn't an Adam Lambert fan thing, it's just a rabid fan thing in general. And you guys can't be sad or annoyed at all the hits it brought, can you?

    Queer is queer!
Not Gay (happy and light hearted), call it what it is and IF I have to be labaled as something I guess Homophob is as good as any but at least I am a man who desires women. Not another man! That in itself is and has been (yes even in the greek and Roman period they were still transgressions)consisdered abnormal or deviants from the norm.

Fair enough. He's a big boy and he can fight his own battles.

Those are all very valid points you have made. I'm a fan of his too but the man can still make mistakes. Maybe he was misquoted? Maybe he said something off-handedly and the reporter jumped all over it? Who knows? If he did actually say those things then this will be a good learning experience for him. Be careful what you say in this age of internet sites, blogs, you-tube, cell-phones as cameras.....etc.
