Alexander McQueen: Dead of Apparent Suicide

Alexander McQueen, an internationally known and respected fashion designer, was found dead today in his London home.

Sources are reporting that McQueen committed suicide, as the UK media organization Sky News says he hanged himself in his apartment. No official cause of death has been released, however.

The 40-year-old British designer was often responsible for outfits worn by such stars as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Prince Charles.

Said rep from McQueen's office in a statement:

"At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with [McQueen's] family."

A new line from the artist, McQ, was set to be debut this afternoon at New York Fashion Week. He was also scheduled to premiere his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9.

Our thoughts go out to McQueen's friends, family and loved ones.

Oh, this is really, really sad... I remember the first time I ever saw his things. It was in London and I bought a beautiful scarf with sculls for my fiancee. Last weekend my fiancee brought me home a fantastic handbag designed by Alexander McQueen. My first - and obviously also my last, as it turned out. My thoughts goes to his family...

Can't help but wonder if he was murdered. There are several reasons to believe that there is a motive for murder.

    1) Lady Gaga's recent rise to fame (meeting the Queen of England and performing with Elton John, for example). Whomever might have murdered Alexander might have a stake in the outfits designed for Gaga as she goes on to make easy money with the blessings of the Queen of England and the elite of the music industry. Her rising star is like a horse drawn chariot of the gods, it's an easy ride to easy money. An outfit designer would want to make all of those outfits and make many millions doing so while going along for the ride.

    2) Lady Gaga recently wore a long dress (to the Grammy's?) that was of a spiral pattern. Numerous large hoops encircled her from head-to-toe. It was sort of a see-through getup. Silver-colored. This pattern mirrors the same hoop pattern seen on the London 20lb note. The message is that the value of silver is dropping. It's also a message about the
