Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez are "Women to Watch For"
As we head into a new decade, who are the young celebrities on whom we should keep an eye?
While this comes as no surprise to THG staff members and readers, Vanity Fair has cited a pair of "Women to Watch Out For." They are... drumroll in full force... Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez!
Each rising star is interviewed in the magazine. What do they think of fame, fortune and celebrity crushes? A few excerpts from each young beauty are below:
Hudgens, on growing up: “I started off as a super-shy girl, extremely hesitant. Now I’m really growing into my own person. I can actually take care of myself, which my mom thought would never happen.”
Hudgens, on the paparazzi: “It was like, ‘Oh, my God! No way! So cool.’ The second day it happens, it’s like, Never mind. Maybe it’s not as cool as I thought it’s going to be.”
Gomez, on her well-known crush: "I am obsessed with Shia LaBeouf. He’s gorgeous and he’s a phenomenal actor. I haven’t met him — I think I’d have a heart attack if I did. I’ll wait till I’m older so that I can work with him. Maybe I’ll have calmed down by then."
The February Vanity Fair issue hits comes out on Thursday, January 21.

Vanessa and Selena are both very talented and beautiful girls. Vanessa doesn't seem to have hit that stride yet, and I think HSM might've killed it because she's got a lot of potential and has yet to showcase it. Selena is a very talented actress, though her singing could use some work. Vanessa's put out a CD or two but she needs to stick to ONE genre of music instead of trying to cram like all these pop-r&b-rock-type songs into one cd

My god I'm getting sick of this. In response to Marj: (who btw should stop commenting on Vanessa Hudgens posts if you evidently hate her so much)
The Hollywood Gossip staff act on opinion. They think Miley Cyrus is a much worse role model than Vanessa Hudgens because her behavior has been far worse. Yes, Vanessa has been involved in two nude scandals, but she has pleaded for the nation's forgiveness and stays in the shadows of publicity avoiding anything that could pull her into darker waters. Also, those photos were obviously leaked against her will. No celebrity would release such a scandal just when the peak of her fame is at rise. The first batch of photos were leaked shortly after the High School Musical franchise rose to fame, just when people would begin to care about her status. And the second batch was released the weekend before her first film after High School Musical ended. THAT is not by free will but by injustice.

EXCUSE me!? Miley needs pointers from VANESSSA!? please Vanessa took naked pictures of herself, while Miley posed provocatively and put it up on her own MYSPACE! if you ask me, Miley GOT her pointers from Vanessa already! Selena Gomez on the other hand is a perfectly good role model. She doesn't try too hard and she's herself. She doesn't go flashing her cleavage around or anything. Stupid Miley fans need to stop saying: They are like everyone else. everyone does pictures like that. Well, dear, they aren't like everyone else. They are DISNEY stars and they have little girls that'll learn disgusting things from them. Ugh.
