The incomparable Lady Gaga was forced to cancel a concert in West Lafayette, Ind., at the last minute Thursday night after falling ill and being advised to rest.

The cancellation was announced after the two opening acts had already performed, disappointing a sold-out crowd at Purdue University’s Elliott Hall of Music.

It was no joke, though. Lady Gaga became dizzy and was having trouble breathing an hour before the show – a result of exhaustion and dehydration, she said.

“Can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room. I begged everyone to let me go onstage,” Gaga Tweeted.

“My stage has complicated mechanical elements, everyone was concerned I’d be in danger during the show, since I had passed out earlier. I am devastated.”

Lady Gaga had to cancel a show. That’s gotta be killing her.

Just to further clear things up, she stated: “I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on mere discomfort.”

“I hope you can forgive me,. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me. I will make-up the performance on January 26.”

It truly must have taken something to knock this dynamic performer out, and it had to eat away at her inside. She’s like the Kevin Garnett of music.

However, Gaga will rally in time for today’s appearance on Oprah, her rep tells E! News. It’s a good thing, too – Winfrey is PUMPED about the interview.

She wrote on Twitter: “Just saw Avatar. WOWEE KAZOWEE!! Interviewing James Cameron tomorrow and LADY GAGA. Can’t sleep. So excited!”

Well summated, O.
