Heidi Montag, who has been widely criticized for her recent plastic surgery binge, says she plans on getting mom Darlene some of her own this Mother’s Day.

While reports surfaced that Heidi’s mom, Darlene Egelhoff, was horrified at her daughter, Heidi now says Darlene not only knew about it, but supported her.

“I’ve had this conversation with her several times. So I think she knew,” the 23-year-old plastic cyborg princess says. “I already heard what she had to say.”

Montag says the only thing she didn’t tell her mom was the date of her plastic surgery, as “I didn’t want it to be a circus. I didn’t want it to be crazy media.”

Heidi says Darlene “was excited and she’s asking … for her surgery next … For Mother’s Day, I have to ask Dr. Frank Ryan if he’ll do a mommy makeover.”

SURGERY GONE WRONG: For once, a supermarket tabloid headline speaks truth.

Should we actually believe any of this? Probably not.

It seems The Hills story editors can’t figure out the most dramatic contrived story line, because conflicting reports say her family was very much in the dark.

In fact, People reports that Heidi Montag is heading home to Crested Butte, Colo., to confront her mom and “the new me,” with camera crews in lock step.

And camera crews for her MTV show are recording it all.

Montag, still in bandages she has to wear for portions of the day while her recovery continues, boarded a private jet bound for Colorado early Wednesday.

We can’t imagine Darlene was actually supportive of her 23-year-old’s decision to dismantle her natural face, or that she’ll react well to Heidi 3.0 in person.

What do you think? When did Heidi look best?
