Chris Matthews on Obama: I Forgot He Was Black!

The State of the Union address by President Barack Obama Wednesday provided plenty of sound bites, but MSNBC's Chris Matthews probably had the night's best.

Or at least the most discussed.

"I forgot he was black tonight for an hour," said Matthews, to which puzzled people across the country reacted somewhere along the lines of [crickets] or "lol wut."

Taken in context, Matthews meant it as praise for Obama as a uniter, a "post-racial" president who has "brought us so far." Still, not the best word choice, Chris.

"I think he's done something wonderful," Matthews later explained. "I think he's taken us beyond black and white in our politics, wonderfully so, in just a year."

    well...regardless of color, we all know he had better step it up...he made many hypocritical remarks about the right wingers needing to work with the lefties, then he started trying to smear them for their actions....it was like "practice what you preach, Obama!" He then said all of our troops would be home by the end of August, which is a falacy...as many are being redirected to Afghanistan....this is just the tip of it, don't even get me started on the economy and his unsurpassed spending in only one year....yeah, this guy is going to make it really hard for those seated democrats to hold onto their posts...he is shaking in his boots...

    LMAO!COMMENT WAS VERY MUCH INNOCENT BUT DAMN THATS WAS WIERD TO SAY RATHER THAN DISRESPECTFUL AND WHY DO PEOPLE STILL LOOK AT COLOR???WE ALL ARE PEOPLE AT THE END OF THE DAY...JUST WAS A SLIGHT DISPUTATION.
