Brangelina Donates $1 Million to Earthquake Relief
If only all celebrities were like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
They're gorgeous, they're talented, they provide us with endless, hilarious tabloid fodder - and they're as charitable as it gets.
The most recent example of their giving nature: the couple has contributed $1 million to emergency medical operations in Haiti, as that nation deals with thousands of deaths and incomprehensible damage in the wake of a 7.0-magnitude earthquake.
"It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades," said Jolie, while her partner added:
"We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care."
Specifically, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation is donating the funds to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontiéres, whose three hospitals in Port-au-Prince were severely damaged.
We hope other stars are paying close attention.

i don't dislike bangelina, but they're not perfect either, to say they're god-sent is a bit much. yes they donated money, because they have the money to spare, but so have many other people and if they didn't have the money to do it they wouldn't, keeping up their life-style comes 1st. this donation didn't make them broke, they still have millions more in their bank accounts. there are people who haven't donated money, but they're out there donating their time and efforts into helping rebuild homes, and that's JUST AS GOOD AS DONATING MONEY. these are the people who should really be looked up to, cuz those are the people who are putting all their efforts into helping from the bottom of their hearts, they're the people who are doing it because they truly want to help and aren't getting publicity and won't be recognized for it, are the true God-sends

Why don't Brand & Angelina actually donate something other that money??? How about some of their time? How about actually getting their "hands dirty"? How about working 16-24 hour shifts of actually helping the people of Haiti????
These people think that money makes it all better...it doesn't!
These people are DISGUSTING!

i think its sad when parents don't care about their kids. that's the lowest form of a human being, no matter what you do. children come 1st
January 14th, 2010 7:01 PM
I think it's sad that the relief efforts in Haiti are being turned into a fashion editorial for children. Who cares how their children dress and who cares if they are getting media attention?? The fact is that they are doing something and have been for the nation of Haiti. Isn't that the point?

i think it's one thing to teach your kids how to be resourceful with money, and an entirely different thing to have them dress like crap. why can't they dress their children nicely, when they spend thousands on an outfit they're only gonna wear only one night for red carpet events? these two spend all the money they want on themselves, but not on their kids? that's so hypocritical, at least other hollywood parents who spend a lot on outfits on themselves and their kids aren't trying to front. and you don't even have to spend that much money for your children to look nice, but to completely disregard what what they look like is just not right. angelina is always wearing "the latest hot thing" by the "best designers" even when she's just going out, even on a regular day

Carry Says:
yes I would have to agree a lot of people in hollywood did donate money but I dont think they dragged the media into it. Because quite frankly the media was already in it, nether do they have to give money for publicity. And specking of selfish way not look at all those hollywood celebrity that waist money year in and year out and dose nothing for anything or anyone. But dress there selfs better and their kids in expensive brans. And its true i am sure parents like for their kids to look better than they do but a parent who spends and dosen't teach their child or kids not to waist it because you have it then i think that parent or parents is the bad parents. And just for the record i am not a fan of brangelina but I dont think bashing them for nothing is worth it when you your selfs are not much better.

actually a lot of people in hollywood did donate money, they were just the only ones who dragged the media into it. what won't these people do for publicity? who knew donating money could be such a selfish act. maybe they should spend some of their money on their kids so they can finally have nice clothes and get their hair done. i've always noticed that kids are usually dressed better then their parents, cuz parents like for their kids to look nice, but not the jolie-pitts, they'll donate money, but don't spend much on their kids, they're bad parents
