American Idol Season 9 Promo Pics: Released!
It's official: Ellen DeGeneres is part of the American Idol family.
The comedian was announced as the show's fourth judge, taking over for Paula Abdul, months ago. But she now appears in a series of promotional photos for the competition and there's truly no going back.
Ellen will debut on the panel on February 9.
Prior to that, Idol will feature a number of celebrity guest judges - including Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry - as it narrows its season nine field down to the Hollywood round.
American Idol will begin its search for the next Kris Allen, Adam Lambert or Carrie Underwood is less than a week! It premieres on January 12 and THG will be there every step of the way, posing almost-daily reviews, recaps and videos of contestants.

Ellen has been the cream of American Idol, she helps to balance off the whole judges comment with her twist of humor. Great addition!

Although Paula will be missed so very very much,and never forgotten.I think Ellen will be the next best.She is very well loved and a very funny lady.I believe you all made a very good choice for having Ellen as Paula's replacement.Once again Judges you have made a wise choice that will pay off in the future on"American Idol".I am so excited for it to start this season,i have never missed one single show or one minute of any show.Your the greatest.I love you all,my dream would be to meet you all.But i know it will never happen,so thank god for American Idol i get to see you all on a weekely basis.Thank you.xoxoxo
