Adam Lambert Laments Loss of Simon Cowell on American Idol (to Oprah!)

by at . Comments

When two global icons sit down for a televised chat Tuesday afternoon, we can now confirm one topic of discussion:

Adam Lambert and Oprah Winfrey will talk about Simon Cowell's departure from American Idol. How does the singer feel about that news?

“The audience will definitely miss Simon,” he said. “The contestants will miss out on really honest criticism. Sometimes it can be a little personal, and I know other contestants took it to heart sometimes and got really stressed out about what he would say. [But] I think that that’s important to making you a better performer."

But, don't worry American Idol fans, Lambert says the show will most definitely go on... and one.

“Ultimately, after the first couple weeks of auditions, the audience tunes in every week for the contestants. [Audiences] grow fond of one or a couple of the people and they get behind them and they’re invested in them... we tune in to hear the contestants blossom or not.”

Adam will also perform the single "Whataya Want From Me" on the show. You can watch its official music video NOW.

I for one will not be watching AI again. What's the sense. After Adam Lambert, there is no more AI. It will never be the same. Why do you think Simon is jumping ship after this season? He knows that there will never be another AI like Season 8.

My favorite show turned into the biggest disappointment ever.Even Simon said the show lost it's excitement for him.AI may think they created drama at the dismal finale but they shot themselves in the foot.I hold AI,ATT and the good christian people of Arkansas equally to blame. They got their guy the win but not the victory. What a huge injustice to both men.I am not alone in saying I'm done with AI,actually no one I know is watching this year.As one person I work with said"They finally produced the superstar and then ruined it"Amen.Done and over.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head Carol, people voted against Adam and not for Kris then didn't buy Kris CD, which are dismal, an injustice to both, then the voting which is such a scam, I will not be watching anymore and neither will many people I know.

i would never vote on american idol again. i think sometime the judges should have more to say about winner. the true winner was ADAM, which also was an injustice to KRIS. people voted against ADAM, not for KRIS. then you had the att bull.

I will tune in later in the show, This will probably be the last season for Idol, so I will watch the results, but won't vote..Idol has helped a lot of Artists get to where they are, so overall it serves its purpose irregardless of who the judges are. Look at Carrie, Daughtry, Cook....its all good..,its the voting that is an vote per household would give the show more credibility...

I agree with Susan. AI, AT&T and Arkansas duped us. It won't happen to me again. Besides, there will never be another contestant like Adam, so why bother watching.

I am no longer watching American Idol and even Adam won't change my mind. It was my favorite show of the year but I am totally disgusted at the Season 8 results. OK Kris was OK but Adam blew me away during each performance and if homophophia does not rule America I will be damned! I also miss beautiful Paula and with Simon leaving AI will never be the same. Bye bye American Idol.
