Happy Birthday, David Archuleta!

by at .

We knew December 28 felt more adorable than most dates - and now we know why.

Former American Idol star David Archuleta celebrates his 19th birthday today.

The Star Search champion released his debut album in November 2008 and while he hasn't made it huge on the charts, Archie still holds a special place in many fans' hearts.

Below is an example of why. Check out David's performance on an installment of Live with Regis and Kelly that aired last week:

Once you wipe the tears away, enjoy the following photo montage in the birthday boy's honor. Hurry up and send him your best wishes before it's too late!

Big on the charts, and big in our hearts. David Archuleta is an incredible singer/songwriter sure to be around for many decades. It is soooooo refreshing to hear music with clever lyrics, great chord progressions and a vocalist with a unique and profound voice to carry the musicality that comes from within. David reaches out to your heart and soul in song and connects like no other. Happy Birthday to an incredible musician and spirit!

I don't think nearly 1 million albums worldwide for the debut album, David Archulta, nearly 2 million sales of "Crush", and about a quarter million CFTH sales is too bad at all. I agree that radio stations need to give David a few breaks for airplay. Considering the drivel that permeates the airwaves, possibly David's voice is just too good. Hopefully, Jive will allow "David to be more like David" on the next album. That's one reason his CFTH album is so terrific; he really "feels" the songs...... Happy birthday, David! You're doing great!
