Sorry, but Ellen is right here. There are so many sexual things on TV and Adam's AMA performance was no different. Why are parents letting their kids watch the AMA's anyway? Do these kids buy Lady GAGA CD's or what? Do kids buy Eminem CD's? The whole thing about kids watching the AMA's is ridiculous and unbelievable. Eminem was so much worse talking about rape--that if America wants to be in an uproar it should be about that and not Adam Lambert. I'd rather watch Adam Lambert perform any day over Eminem. The bleeping that was going on should be a clue to the disgusting lyrics of his. Adam's songs on his new CD have NO suggestive lyrics or criminal rape suggestions! They are beautifully done and at least he can sing. Eminem is not talented he is just crude and trashy.

I am so sick of hearing people make remarks about Adam's performance as being no more provocative than other performers....that is BS. It isn't the kissing of the man that people have a problem with but the way he simulated oral sex (a BJ) and the way he acted like he was fingering that girl on the pole....I for one, and everyone else I have talked to thought it was disgusting...and I was a fan up until he did that, it was gross and nasty...he is just seeing how far he can go and trying to push people's buttons, and it did push a lot of buttons. He's gay, and gay's kiss, but it is the other things he did that were so disturbing, he should keep those things private, and not in front of millions of people. No wonder he didn't do it during rehearsal, he knew ABC would not allow it!!!! Whew, now I feel better.

lilyx, yes maybe a little bit but it was acceptable for the whole family to watch. i agree with guest and jamie35. Truly good singers don't need all of the hoopla and drama to sell music. I will admit I wasn't a fan of Adam's singing but I did enjoy his personality and he was a nice guy. I am a bit turned off when someone becomes famous then has to use their agenda to make a statement. He seems to keep calling what he did "entertainment" and that if a woman did it it would be different, or because he's gay, blah blah blah. Why can't singers just sing songs anymore? Why are people's sexual preferences, morals, etc. brought into their performance?? WHy do we always have to be subjected to these styles too? Pushing it in our faces constantly? Even Beyonce is a good singer but she constantly has to dance and act disgustingly sexual when she performs. I guess I miss the old days when it was more about the song than the performance.

What a puss! If you are going to be provocative at least stay in character. If you are a true artist then you apologize for nothing. This guy is a true dillweed.

TO guest: Do you really think there were no displays of sexuality in Adam's performances on Idol.. did you see Ring Of Fire? Of course it was nothing like the AMA performance, but I feel many of Adam's performances on Idol were filled with sexuality. Hiding and stifling Adam's sexuality would be a detriment to the great performer he is. He needs to keep it a little less provocative for a broader audience, but always stay true to himself. Oh and great article THG! Thank you :)
