In the interest of international peace ;-> I'd like to mention that a really awesome song currently used in a U.S. Lincoln car commercial is Australian Sia Furler singing The Church's song "Under the Milky Way". Beautiful.
IMO Britney is nothing but an embarrassment. She and all similar low-class "talent" should be thrown out of work. I'd rather see true artists who have some brains AND class. I think that the kind of people who buy Britney tickets don't know what real talent is. They have some misplaced notion that making a crude spectacle of yourself is a talent.

Aussies sure are thin-skinned. No wonder they have to live on their own island separate from the rest of the world.

Oi "fiercly proud Aussie" there is no such thing as a "1st world country" it's called a Developed Country, so STFU!!!
Just because the Australian media, is retarded and has nothing better to post than the "newsflash" that Briteny Spears does not sing live, doesn't mean that all Australians are stupid and uneducated.
Australian Mainstream Media is shithouse, we as Australians know this... but it's not like the US has it any better; FOX anyone?????
Bag the media, don't bag the country. i don't think this article was meant to be hateful towards Aussie's just making a valid point about the shithouse-ness of our Media. So to all of you having a whinge, just have a cup of concrete and Harden The FUCK up!!!

Seriously, that just pisses me off. Yes, we get the internet and just because a couple of government people want to make sure that people know what they're paying for before they buy tickets, doesn't mean the majority of the Australian public doesn't realize that she lip-syncs. And if they don't realize, it's probably because they don't give a shit about Britney Spears.

Point for Steven, Your Pink tickets must have been shit mate, coz I saw her in Manchester couple weeks back and not only did she lip sync 75% of it, she didn't even try to hide the fact on most of it...... and no high energy dancing as an excuse.

Lets face it folks, this Minister of Fair Trading Seems to me like yet another talentless nobody going nowhere and hoping that using the term ' Britney Spears' is gonna get her somewhere by bringing in the google hits and attention that she otherwise fails to get off her own back. Get off the witchunting bandwagon folks. I go to loads of concerts and can't remember the last time I saw one that was 100% live. Everybody does it, only Britney has the megastardom to get a daily thrashing for it. If her performanace was below par maybe it was because of the beating she's has had in the Aussie press before she even set foot on stage. After reading some of the stuff about her yesterday, If I was her I would have called in sick and let the insurance deal with it. One things for sure, any international performer worth their salt with be giving Oz a wide berth if this the welcome they are gonna get. Get a life people.

Coming from an Australian, to lip-sinc it is svery uncommon. We are used to real raw talent.Britney was never good anyway. I believe American's botox have sunk to their brains!

americans are really arrogant. Australian's like to listen to real music (live) which is why PINK had a 3 month tour there. Kylie Minogue is very classy and we know she mime's, shes a performer and im not meaning one who dry humps on a stripper pole.

For the self appointed ruler of the free world, and a country called United States, there is nothing united about you. Get your facts straight. Australia, unlike America has a wealth of talent represented on the radio that isn't virtually 100% American and it is really strange for us to hear that artist actually lipsinc. Just because she is huge in USA it does not mean that she is in Australia. This all started over a newspaper article on why would people spend x amount on someone miming? its just a simple question sunshine.... you get offended by this, but not when she was having such a serious mental health issues and the 'paps' who were fighting over each other to get the best picture of her. At least our papers are not dictated by the White House and we have our freedom to ask a simple question...

It's a sad indictment that the author of this article (who hides behind the pseudonym "Free Britney") feels the need to have a go at Australia simply because Aussies can actually recognise that they're being ripped off by Britney Spears charging $$$hundreds for a concert to see her mime. PINK has an even more amazing live show, and that never stopped her from singing 100% of her shows, so this has nothing to do with Australia, but does say a lot about this journalist.

Yes, good to obscurely reference a bit of Orwell when critical of one's grammar, especially when they are being hypocritical about pointing out hypocrisy. Regardless of our schooling and not our country of origin, the point all goes back to legislation and a little bit about the fact that the Minister for Fair Trading for NSW isn't too far up on the political ladder for anyone to assume that's she's got anything more important to worry about. In fact the news is so slow today this comment will probably make it onto the front page. Do I have to mention the Australian coverage of Halloween at the Obamas' as a rebuttle? No I don't, so I won't. We blame the happy news coverage in both our countries, the one that deems it too depressing to cover news that doesn't come with a sponsorship but we don't because we love it. Love it all and lap it up. Just like a big fat Britney blow up doll.

Spears looks like an average soccer mom in a mail-order Victoria's Secret outfit. You'd have to be nuts to pay to see her.
ProwedOzC, take a pill. And yeah, if you want to insult Americans, it would make more sense to phrase it in something other than your benighted Aussie-speak.

WAS such a big fan of Hollywood Gossip - and then I go and read this... I'm an Aussie, a very, fiercely proud one! We have the internet, we're actually a 1st World Country - and God knows why we're even excepting the likes of Britney Spears into our country, but the big who-ha we've made about the lip-syncing and shock is due to the exuberant costs for POP artist that is lip-syncing. Yes, she's putting ona show - but here's a headline for you Yanks - tonnes of fans left her first show last night in Perth, hmmm, not because she was lip-syncing OUT OF SYNC but due to the fact her performance was not on par. Stop with the slagging of the Aussies, get the facts straight and understand that Britney is going to be bagged NO MATTER what because she's quite useless - guess you Yanks should be proud. As for the government swipes, seriously ? Look in your backyard first, at least we don't have ex-Hollywood actors playing politicians... Won't be reading Hollywood Gossip for a while now, us

This proves why Australia is LAME. It's a frickken pop concert people. Get on a kangaroo and hop into the outback while international artists perform if you don't want to see them.
Damn people take things so personally, I don't think this was written to intentionally offend people. One would think a government official would have more important things to worry about other than who lip syncs and who doesn't though...

As this article states, it was issued years ago that Britney mimes. A true fan knows this and obviously has no problem with it if they are willing to see her live. I infact have waited almost my entire life to see her in concert and am going twice well awear that she won't actually be singing.
So it's no surprise to a Britney fan, everyone who had a problem can stick it!

You idiot, Australia isn't just discovering that Britney Spears lip-syncs, they're just demanding a legislation requiring that people who aren't performing "live" let it be known that they aren't performing live prior to a concert on the tickets, so no one can complain that they were duped. Yes, it is common knowledge that Britney lip syncs, but a lot of other acts lip-sync as well, and it is not so commonly known exactly who does. It's not just about Britney, it's about everyone who performs over there and charges a ridiculous amount of money for an experience that one can replicate by staying home and watching their videos on YouTube for free. Learn to use your brains before you type stupid, pointless posts, dumbasses. But what do I expect from a gossip blog? Like you guys would ever write anything intelligent and well thought out.
