It's a great time to be a vampire.
Opening night screenings for New Moon are already sold out. Adam Lambert says he'll dress as a blood sucker for Halloween.
And, now, The CW has announced a full-season pick-up for The Vampire Diaries.
It was an easy decision for the network, considering the show set a ratings record for its series premiere and has remained competitive on Thursday nights. Fans can't get enough of Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore.

Move over, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley have carved a niche for themselves in vampire lore.

I've watched half of an episode. It was interesting I guess, nothing spectacular to me though - but I'm a sucker for True Blood. :P
I read somewhere that Vampire Diaries was written before Twilight was!
The vampire craze is starting to wear on me though, same with the gosselins.

It's sounds and looks like Twilight!!The chic looks like Bella and the cute guy looks like Edward!, they are big time copycats!!Its good though cuz i do love Twilight!

Gaby197 .... Twilight is a copy of Vampire Diaries (I'm not saying it directly copied it, but if you're going to say Vampire diaries copied Twilight, you're incorrect)
Vampire Diaries came out in the early 90's - twilight was published in 2007 I think?

After I episode I hated it. first of all it's a total rip of twilight and secondly the actors arn't that good looking thirdly the whole them liking each other at fist sight and the love is forbidden GAY! anyway my opinion sorry if I offend anyone.

I love the show and i want it to go to a second season + i love Elena and Stefan they are way better than Edward and Bella!

This show is so predictable! The only question is how long will it take for Damon to be redeemed and Stefan to fall from grace??? It is so obvious that Damon isn't the big evil- it's all a set up and just a matter of time before Elena believes in his goodness and begins arguments with Stefan defending him. For fans of Stefan/Elena and the Vampire Diaries books, this show is heading for a big let down!!!

Paul Wesley is so HOT! He totally makes the show for me. Those smoldering eyes.. that incredible voice... (sigh).
