This suspension is ridiculous. Montoya laughed it off and Greise certainly meant it in jest. What if he had said that "Bill Elliot was out eating some grits" or that "Donavan McNabb was out eating a Phillie Cheesesteak." All of these foods are local favorites. This could be a ploy by ESPN to increase their Hispanic audience, as NASCAR is desperately trying to do!

I am sure Columbia is a beautiful country... just like America. Drugs are in Columbia and have been a focus for a long time there...Drugs are in America as well and we have our problems with them here...As has been previously said by a latino in this post, mexicans make fun of mexicans, and I say we all make fun of our own heritage. We should be able to distinguish between racism and meaningless comments. None of this applies to Bob Griese and his SUSPENSION. Where is the invisible line tht we should not cross??? Should he really be suspended for this commment? If so what about all the black comedians who tell jokes about whites, do they get a rebuke from anyone? And what about the Swedish People? who do they pick on... I used to watch espn a lot but not anymore, seems like they only tell you what they want you to hear.and what is wrong with a person saying he is having a taco.nothing more than saying a black man eating chicken or a white man eating ham and cheese. shame on you espn

I am sure that Griese played with all ethnic varieties of people and he seemed to be well liked. Sensitivities have been around since the irish drank beer and ate potatoes, the italians drank vino and ate pasta and yes, the mexicans ate those there tacos. You betcha!
