Stephanie Birkitt: On David Letterman, On the Late Show
It's now public knowledge that David Letterman carried on an affair with a female staffer. The talk show host himself admitted this last night.
To her horror, that employee has now been identified as Stephanie Birkitt.
Considered one of Dave's most trusted staffers, Birkitt earned a degree from Wake Forest University in 1997; worked at 48 Hours upon graduation (where she first met Letterman's alleged extortioner, Robert Halderman); and joined the The Late Show months later.
She actually appeared on air at times, most notably in sketches such as“ Know Your Current Events,” as seen below. Fast forward to the 3:15 mark to watch Birkitt (referred to as "Vicki) interact with Dave and an audience member:

Reportedly, Stephanie developed a sexual relationship with Letterman that ended in 2003, prior to the birth of his son, Harry. She was living with Halderman at the time.
In 2004, in an interview with The Fort Worth Star Telegram, Birkitt said of her boss:
“He’s just playful. We play catch sometimes in the office, and we all go to screenings together. We eat food together, we sit around and watch TV together and goof on people. And he teases me in real life, too, but I give it back a lot more in real life.”

Why don't some of you get a life, you people feed on what you can in the news. I don't care what Dave Letterman, Bill Clinton, or any other person does sexually. Why should you care ??? In my opinion most of you have done the same. Now you want to talk crap about some one or any one in the spotlight that might be a celebrity or politician. As stated before,, Get A Life

How do we know that Birkitt isn't in with Halderman on the extortion idea and that Halderman is just the fall guy? There's been many movie plots made on this same type of story. However,
if this were to happen in another work place outside of TV/showbusiness, one OR both of the individuals would be let go.
Then that's another lawsuit case to consider.

Wwhen Ms. Birkitt started interacting with Dave he seemed to get almost intoxicated in his mannerisms. It was obvious to me he was either already plundering Ms. Birkitt or trying to get the door open. Where ever he would go when he would get back, Ms. Birkitt would have photo's or film with them both in scenes but also always with more staff. The when you notice that Ms. Birkitt does not have any more appearances, what has happened. I thought his wife may have said, "you're getting way to familiar with Stephanie" and she had to go. You notice you don't see Rupert the deli owner as much any more. Does that mean he had a falling out, or has he moved? Dave intelligent as he seems, is just like 90% of all men, if they could get a young attractive girl in bed they would. I am saying 9 out of 10 men would fail and enter an affair. I hate hypocrits who say they wouldn't. Even with news all over the place about it, many men will enter the same type of affairs as Dave and Bill Clinton

Letterman is an elitist. He would never have thought of doing what he did when he was crawling at Carson's feet begging for crumbs. I can understand why he did it when I see pictures of his "wife", and the mother of his child. Letterman obviously out grew her or so he thought. He just should have been a stand up guy, ditched her and paid the piper by way of the settlement, then he could dip his withered old wick in as many subhalterns and wanna be's as his diseased ticker could handle.
The truth is he is affraid of dying alone and kept his surrogate wife around "just in case". Look at her, no doubt she is the kind of doormat who will stay around and wipe his ass when he has heart trouble again, and he knows it, emotional security blanket that she is. Two or is it three faux paux in the last year? Letterman is obvioulsy losing his grip on fame and fortune and has started to think that the standard rules of decency do not apply. I've watched Letterman since 81 when I was still in high school his show is way better than Leno's and dave is class act.Dave gets attacked and the so called moral majority right wing pounce on dave if this had happed to Rush these people would be quiet and the liberal left would be on the offencive. The culture war in this country is pathetic and out of control, gets worse every year each side is deludid It's going to win, the USA needs to take page out of the UK,s book and keep your polotics and Relgious beliefs to your self so we can all live in peace.
