Filippa Hamilton: Photoshopped, Fired For Being Fat

by at . Comments

Filippa Hamilton is hot.

She is also 5-foot-10 and a relatively healthy 120-pounds.

But the French model was recently altered dramatically for a Japanese print ad, and claims she was fired by Ralph Lauren because they thought she was too fat.

"They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn't fit in their clothes anymore," Filippa Hamilton said in an interview with the New York Daily News.

Hamilton said of the Ralph Lauren Blue Label ad, which features a funhouse mirror-like slimming of her hips: "I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face; it's very sad, I think, that Ralph Lauren could do something like that."

She's got a point. Check out the hilarious comparison:

Filippa Hamilton looks great on the left. The right? Well ...

The company, in response, said the controversially altered picture "was mistakenly released and used in a department store in Japan and was not the approved image which ran in the U.S. We take full responsibility."

"This error has absolutely no connection to our relationship with Filippa Hamilton."

They confirmed Hamilton was released "as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us." Ah, the ol' catch-all breach of contract.

Hamilton, who had modeled for the designer since 2002, was unmoved and left little room for interpretation when she said in reply: "[Ralph Lauren] fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn't fit in their clothes anymore."

"I think they owe American women an apology, a big apology; I'm very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy."

What do you think? Is Filippa too fat?

5-10 @120 lbs is not a healthy weight at all. It's classified as underweight with a BMI of 17.2 and most women should aim to have a BMI above 18.5 To say that she's a role model would be to encourage starvation and unrealistic body images. This is the sort of thing that makes little girls sick.

I agree with akatrene. Whilst she is beautiful, it wouldn't kill to put on a bit of weight. Losing it is just insane!! The picture on the left is rediculous, she looks ill.

Ew, why does she have to look so sickly thin on the photo on the right?

I think she could still stand to put on 20 pounds or so. 120lbs at 5'10" is "relatively" healthy??? Seriously??? 120lbs at 5'6" is healthy. And I'm formerly a skinny girl. I'm 5'8" and was once 110lbs. I'm now a much more healthy 140 lbs and am much happier with curves. I look back at my skinny pictures and can't believe how sickly I looked.

To be honest, her stomach on the left looks a bit shopped. The image on the right is laughable, the person who thinks this look is appropriate at that company is the one who should be fired, and sent to a psychologist immediately.
