Miley Cyrus has spent her summer Tweeting and possibly stealing Liam Hemsworth from another woman.
Conversely, fellow Disney star Selena Gomez has been getting so heavily involved in charitable endeavors that she's been appointed the youngest Ambassador ever for UNICEF, a worldwide organization that focuses on underprivileged children.
"Every day 25,000 children die from preventable causes," said Gomez. "I stand with UNICEF in the belief that we can change that number from 25,000 to zero. I know we can achieve this because every moment UNICEF is on the ground providing children with the lifesaving assistance needed to ensure zero becomes a reality."
The Wizards of Waverly Place star isn't all talk, either:
She's heading off to Ghana this week on her first official field-mission for UNICEF. Said Caryl Stern, CEO of the company:
"We're very pleased to have Selena join the UNICEF family, as a long time supporter, she will continue to capture and engage and audience of millions of young people to help ensure the health, education, equality and protection of every child."
Miley, meanwhile, will continue to Tweet about eating too much ice cream and wanting to be cuddled.

Selena is such a great person! Good for her doing all that for charity!! I really look up to her, even though she's the same age as me. I think she is a great role model!

Miley does just as much if not more for charity. She just avoids seeking attention for it in most cases. Visiting Hospitals, donating Items to charities and 3rd party charity auctions, as well as giving money, donating a percentage of her money from her concerts to charity, auctioning off item for charity, and her own charity for disadvantage kids. You rarely see these things in the new, but they happen. I agree with many of the others. If Selena really cares, she should avoid attention at all cost and do her charity work quietly behind the scene. The I will believe she is sincere like Miley.

Wow, look at all the Miley posers on this page. What Selena is compared to holier than thou Miley and everyone attacks her. Miley is Miley, and to me, she is a fake, wanna be singer, her acting is not acting, and she can't sing for crap. She is an immature little brat. Selena is mature, seems to be very grounded and not the media whore Miley is. Oh Stan, are you with her when she does all that, supposedly, yeah, didn't think so!! Miley is a selfish, self-centered, little skank who will probably end up in Rehab by the time she is 19, have a ton of STD's because her parents let her do whatever she wants, MILEY RULES IN THEIR OWN LITTLE WORLD. Give her 5 minutes in the real world, she would get the crap beat out of her and have to walk home.
