This story basically, legally confirms what we've already known was the case for half the year: It's over for LeAnn Rimes and husband Dean Sheremet.

"After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage," the country star says on her Web site.

"This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you for your continued love and support."

Rimes, who turned 27 Friday, married Sheremet in 2002 when she was 19 and he was 21. They separated amid allegations of her affair with actor Eddie Cibrian.

LeAnn and Eddie met while filming Lifetime movie Northern Lights last fall. Cibrian, meanwhile, filed for divorce from wife Brandi Glanville last week.

Cibrian's ex has called him "somebody I don't know" and claims she sensed the attraction between the two when they filmed Northern Lights last fall.

LeAnn and Dean

Dean Sheremet and LeAnn Rimes were all smiles just a few months ago.

LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian have since gone public with their relationship.

Rimes's longtime friend, Jeff Berger, says that Rimes and Sheremet, a songwriter and former dancer, are "doing their best to handle it as mature adults."

"Dean's her best friend and that's the crux of the issue; when you love and care about somebody who's your best friend – how not to cause pain," he says.

"Le and Dean are great people and, unfortunately, going through a tough situation. But they're doing what needs to be done as amicably as possible."

Dean Sheremet, a former professional dancer, is attending culinary school in NYC. He posted this on Twitter: "Back to school kids, first time in 10 years."

She won't be going Dancing with the Stars this fall, but wouldn't you know it, La Toya Jackson has gone and made a moving Michael Jackson tribute video.

The deceased star's singing sister released "Home" back in July and her label claimed she would not be doing much in the way of promoting or marketing.

But these are the Jacksons we're talkin' about.

While father Joe Jackson has been busy talking to anyone who'll listen, La Toya has been working on a forthcoming album and filming a "Home" music video.

It's now being billed as a "tribute to Michael Jackson." Nothing like trying to cash in on your deceased brother, but the preview below does look kind of nice.

And how mad can we get, it's for a good cause. All proceeds from the single's downloads will go to one of MJ's favorite charities, AIDS Project Los Angeles.

Check out a preview of the music video here ...

Miley Cyrus claims she doesn't have a boyfriend.

But try telling that to Laura Griffin.

The 19-year old Australian had to find out from her pals that boyfriend Liam Hemsworth had made out with Cyrus away from the cameras of the film they were shooting together, The Last Song.

On Set Romance

More Than Co-Stars? Liam Hemsworthy and Miley Cyrus may have contributed to Laura Griffin's heartbreak. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]

Soon afterwards, he ended the relationship with Griffin. Coincidence? She clearly thinks not.

"He was my boyfriend and my best friend," Laura told an Australian publication this week. "There is no other reason [other than Miley Cyrus] why we would have broken up."

Over the last few days, Griffin has done something to which Cyrus can relate: post messages online. On her Facebook account, Laura's moods have ranged from "total utter regret" to "depression of some sort."

She couldn't even muster up the energy to add a sad face at the end. :(

We hope this fling was worth it, Miley!

The great Whitney Houston performed her first comeback show this morning for Good Morning America in New York City's Central Park, and boy the audience killed.

Yep, the audience. The appreciative crowd, happy to see their hero back on stage after ... well, a really long time, helped her out by singing all the high notes. Woo!

Whitney Houston reportedly cut the GMA concert short because of a strained voice, but later said via her rep that "she only committed to two songs," but sang four.

We hope her rendition of "I'm Every Woman" was the third or fourth ...

"The bitch is back" is one tagline MTV has used to promote the revamped version of The Hills, which returns on September 29 starring Kristin Cavallari.

Guess that edged out "Hilariously contrived drama is back."

It's hard to tell what's more fake, the boobs of Heidi Montag or her debate with Spencer over whether to have kids, but either way, there’s lots going on!

Not the least of which? The "return" of Kristin Cavallari, Laguna Beach rival of Lauren Conrad, who's now stepping into the footsteps of the retired LC.

And hitting on Justin-Bobby, as if that were remotely feasible.

Yes, that loser is still around. Audrina Patridge thinks she’s moved on, but may not be ready to see him with another girl. Especially one named Kristin.

“She’s the girl that’s going to stab us all in the back and doesn’t care,” Stephanie Pratt reads off cue cards, talking about Kristin's "return" (even though she was never around to begin with). “How can one person turn our lives upside down?”

Because MTV paid her a lot to stir up drama, that's how.

In Speidi Land, a certain bimbo is fake-pressuring her husband to knock her up, as we hinted above. That will be even harder for them to stage than their Cabo wedding, but we imagine they are up to the challenge.

Lastly, Lo Bosworth and the uber-annoying Stephanie Pratt are looking more plastic than ever. How psyched are you for The Hills to return in four weeks?

As far as rumored biological parents of Michael Jackson's children go, Dr. Arnold Klein would probably receive the best odds from Vegas handicappers.

We've got Klein at 3:1, with Mark Lester a dark horse at 7:2 on Paris Jackson, Pia Bhatti 15:1 on Blanket and Macaulay Culkin a total long shot at 250:1.

Michael Jackson Entertainment Weekly Cover

Not that Klein plans on proving or disproving theories wrought by Us Weekly, and later his own non-statements, that he's Paris and Prince's real father.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, an attorney for Klein, MJ's dermatologist and close pal, says Klein is not opposed to taking a paternity test to see if he's the dad.

He's not in a hurry to, though, unless asked by the kids themselves.

"The court certainly would not order a DNA test after the death of the conclusively presumed biological parent," Kaplan said, with an additional footnote.

"I think that if, at some point, when the minor children reach their majority, that will be a decision I assume they would make, they alone would make."

Father or not, Dr. Arnold Klein wants to stay close to Michael's children.

"Whether he is or he isn't, it's not going to make him love these children any less than if somebody else were the source," Kaplan said. "In the past there was a close, loving relationship. I think they referred to him as Uncle Arnold."

Despite recent objections in court, Dr. Arnold Klein isn't seeking to oust Katherine Jackson as the children's guardian now or at any time in the future.

"He would like to, as he promised his friend, do what he can to see that the children are making the best decisions," Kaplan said. "He would like input in respect to educational decisions for them, something particularly important to Michael."

Also of importance to Michael Jackson for Paris, Prince and Blanket?

"Michael had asked Dr. Arnold Klein that if something were to happen to him while his children were still minors that Dr. Klein, as a friend, would do what he could do to protect the children from being in the life of an entertainer."

"He regretted he didn't have a chance to be just a normal child not in the spotlight, and wanted the children to have those normal aspects of life growing up that I think Michael didn't have the opportunity to experience."

Sounds like good advice from a concerned, thoughtful parent. You can say a lot of things about Michael Jackson, but you can't take that away from him.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo definitely has a type.

According to Celeb TV, the NFL star and quasi-celebrity is now dating Miss Missouri Candice Crawford, the sister of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford!

While this rumor is unsubstantiated, it could be true because:

  • Tony and Chace, a Dallas native, are friends.
  • Candice Crawford covers high school sports for Dallas station 33TV and also hosts the weekend Dallas Cowboys sports show Special Edition.
  • She totally kind of looks like Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood (who, after dating Tony Romo, also dated Chace Crawford). We're sold!

Whether they're dating or not, don't you think Tony Romo and Candace Crawford make a cute pair? She's gotta be less annoying than Jessica, too ...

That's it. Kim Zolciak won't stand any longer for the denial of equal gay rights!

Actually, she will stand - but she'll do so topless with tape covering her nipples dammit! That will show the close-minded bigots that protest Adam Lambert concerts.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star has joined the NOH8 Campaign, a movement that asks celebrities to speak out against the Prop 8 initiative in California, which banned gay marriage.

Other stars that have signed up for this campaign include Michael Emerson, Shanna Moakler, Kathy Griffin, Meghan McCain and many more. Zolciak is one of the few to take her shirt off for the cause, but at least her head - and boobs - are in the right place.

Kim Zolciak Nude

Let's give Kim credit, too: at least she's half naked for an admirable cause.

In her past life, rival NeNe Leakes got half naked for nothing but dollar bills and lap dances.

Here's a Bones spoiler for you: David Boreanaz's new bundle of joy is here!

The actor's wife, Jaime Bergman, delivered the couple's second child, daughter Bardot Vita Boreanaz, on Monday. Bardot joins big brother Jaden Rayne, 7.

The birth comes as a relief to David Boreanaz, who had been staying close to home in case Jamie Bergman, who had been on bed-rest, went into labor.

"I must maintain a 20-mile radius. I cannot travel beyond that," the former Angel star, 40, said. "If I do, I'll freak – I have to be there if the baby comes."

Now that Bardot is here, David Boreanaz, Jaime Bergman can breathe easy.

"We've been trying to have another baby for a couple of years now so we are beyond excited," Bergman, 33, recently said. "We're over the moon.”

Congratulations to the happy couple.

Role Model
–noun; a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, esp. by younger people.

Incredibly, Kourtney Kardashian has not been heard from in days. We can only assume she's saving a new batch of mundane quotes and thoughts about her pregnancy for an upcoming, in-depth interview.

Fortunately, Erica Mena - who E! News describes as a "video vixen turned sales associate" at Dash in Miami - is on record as saying that Kourtney should be admired for being so open about her knocked up state.

"The fact that Kourtney puts everything out there about her pregnancy for the world to know makes her more of a role model," Mena told Marc Malkin. "It's realistic and it's the truth, and for a young girl going through the same thing - forgetting to the take the pill, considering abortion - it's nice to know Kourtney is someone a person can look up to in the public eye."

Note to Erica: a role model is someone to whom other should aspire; not someone that simply makes the same mistakes as thousands of women every year. Realism does not equate to admiration.

Frightening Parents

Mena also says that Scott Disick is a "natural" with children and "more excited than anyone" about the impending money he can earn from selling photos of the baby. Guess that makes him a role model, too!

Do you think Kourtney Kardashian is a role model?
