First of all, the camera guy and his mother (or whomever the female voice was) should be arrested, beaten and suffer long, grueling torture. Okay, now that's off my chest, I'll say that I hope Maia has a chance to read this, because I think it might help her:
Apparently, like too many blacks, Maia doesn't have the support she needs from the RIGHT support system to effectively cope with her mental/emotional issues. The loss of her mother has a profound weight on these issues. I know, because of the recent loss of my own mother. I will NEVER get over losing her, but I try to get used to the new way of living without her. Sidebar--I do not indulge in cocaine, Thank The Good Lord, but, I have seen the permanent effects of the abuse in other people.
For most of my life, I have seen (objectively and subjectively) the damaging effects of the taunting and teasing of people with mental illnesses. The stigma is not one that people want to wear, but sometimes it has to become a badge of cou

She shoulda listened when the say no to drugs commercials were on!
I have no sympathy for people who choose to smoke crack! I mean have you ever heard a story like.."Well i tried crack for the first time, and then everything started to go right in my life"?...NO! So why would you even try it the first time? She's a foul mouthed drug addicted loser that was given opportunities that so many people only dream of.

This video just goes to show you the sick world we live in. This girl has fallen and instead of helping you push her down further. I only pray that karma finds you and finds you well, then F's you up.....nobody has the right to post your most humiliating moment. This guy should be locked up......

What a pitiful shame the men don't know better....exploit anyone just to get a laugh......then have the nerve to get upset when his mother is mentioned...what a joke! NOt only does she need to be saved but so does the mentality of some of our black men.

Shame on all those immature lil boys exploiting her that way. Bad Karma for them. I hope one day if they ever get off the stoop, they may grow up and mature and be ashamed of what they did. and if any of them have daughters, to remember how they exploited someone else's daughter. I pray that Maia gets the help she needs to rise above this illness and give a testimony that will help others going thru what she is going thru now. To the dude that was filming her, you ain't funny, your SCUM!!!

GG - this not a female thing ONLY, nor just a female exploitation thing, so chill with the what if it was his sister or daughter crap. What, it's any less of an issue if it was a male in her place?
No!
Although you DO make some great points, that one was stupid!
How about we have a heart in this situation period, no what sex they are.

ariesgirl..if you knew anything about mental illness, you'd know that the illness itself is what precludes people from taking their meds...maia's is compunded by drug use...which makes her illness manifest more like schizophrenia versus bipolar(which is her diagnosed illness) Very dangerous. I just lost someone to mental illness....drug use, too? Maybe...we will never know. Suicide...we'll never know. I am sad for Maia. As a community we need to realize the effects of mental illness and substance use, either independent of one another or as comorbid conditions.
