Kentucky native Kevin Skinner, an unemployed farmhand and longtime musician, was named the winner of NBC’s America’s Got Talent last night. Yee haw!
He beat out opera singer Barbara Padilla, his final competitor after almost 100,000 hopefuls auditioned for the fourth season of the NBC talent show.
“My heart was pounding, almost to the point that I thought it was going to come out of my chest,” Skinner said after winning the $1 million prize.
“I had never experienced anything like that and probably never will again, I would say, that dramatic. It’s the greatest feeling. I’m 35, so I have been chasing the dream for a while, and it hasn’t come true. It’s more than words can explain.”
Kevin Skinner has Got the most Talent in America!
Judge Sharon Osbourne summed up Kevin Skinner’s win: “Apparently, it was a really huge win, too. It’s just such a feel-good story that people just want him to win because he’s the everyman. All his life he’s been the underdog."
"He’s so genuine, what you see is what you get. He’s not contrived. So many people that come on this show kind of get sophisticated and try to play the game.”
Like Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle, who performed on the AGT finale in her American musical debut, Kevin Skinner became an viral video star long before he took home the title yesterday evening. Congrats again, K!

I am so happy that Kevin Skinner won. I have seen his video clips more that 100 times and each time could not stop my tears. Kevin's talent won the prize, however, his honesty, his genuine manner and his pure soul won everyone's heart. He taught everyone a lesson that being a chicken catcher or being a professor is not a reason for people to make fun of one and admire the other. I hope this success does not change him and he always be the same Kevin Skinner, genuine and honest. I hope a good luck and more success in his day to day life.

I think no one was more deserving than Kevin!!!!! It's not about feeling sorry for him, it's about his true heart felt talent!! He had my family from day one!!! Remember America voted!!!! I didn't even vote, I knew I didn't have to!!! I knew he had it won from the start!!! Talent is not true talent unless it takes your breathe away!!! Well then I would say America's breathe was taken away or he wouldn't be our winner!!!!!! Go Kevin!! The best to you and your family! Looking forward to buying your cd's!!

You know I was very impressed with the whole America's got talent show, and I think the judges did an amazing job picking out the best talent, but I'm sorry to say the popular vote that allowed Kevin to win is just tragic. I think he's a great guy, nice family and defiantly wanted it, but as Pierce kept pointing out, it was supposed to be a million dollar act. This was not it. I was seriously considering purchasing tickets for the Vegas show, and to be brutally honest, I would have had it been any of the other 10 finalists. I'm afraid I have no desire to hear sentimental songs sung poorly and out of key. Best of luck to you Kevn, as I think your day has come and gone. Let's hope for a better choice next year.

How and Where can we find out about his Show in Las Vegas ???? I really want to go there for that... Does Kevin have an e-mail address where a member of the public can contact him (his staff) ????
Please send me an answer to the above e-mail address. Thank you so much.

When this man performed my heart melted. He took my breath away. The music he makes is unforgetable, he is a true star to capture such emotion is unbelievable.
How many musicians can take your breath away?Kevin took me to a place so far away that all you feel is the passion of the music. He clearly is AMERICA'S CHOICE....
