Oregon-Boise State Fight Kicks Off Football Season!

by at . Comments

Boise State defeated Oregon, 19-8, to begin an exciting season of college football last night, but a punch thrown after the whistle is drawing all the attention.

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount decided to go Chris Brown on a Boise State player after the game at Bronco Stadium. Dude had to be restrained.

Blount later apologized for the punch thrown at Byron Hout, who was creamed in the jaw as players flooded the field (most of them just to shake hands).

The Oregon attacker also went after some Broncos fans, and his actions were caught by ESPN and replayed countless times for the national TV audience.

Watch the Oregon-Boise State fight right now and gasp in amazement:

this wasn't a sucker punch. you don't take you helmet off, come up to a player on the opposing team, and talk shit. a sucker punch is unexpected, but this guy had to expect something. and to all you people who though he shouldn't play anymore, he just scored a td thursday to win the game! so watch out ohio state, whether you want him to play or not. HE'S GOING TO BE IN THE ROSE BOWL!!! oh, and beaver fans, i hope you have fun in vegas.

IT WAS VERY WRONG TO THROW A PUNCH PERIOD! BUT IT WASNT REALLY A SUCKER PUNCH CAUSE THE GUY WASNT TRYING TO SEE IF THE GUY HE HIT WAS LOOKING OR NOT, HE WAS JUST PUNCHING. LOOKED LIKE HE WAS REACTING TO SOMETHING THE OTHER GUY SAID TO ME, NONE OF US KNOWS WHAT HE WAS TOLD(HE COULD CALLED HIS MOM A B****). SO IF YOU PUNISH ONE FOR THROWING THE PUNCH THEM PUNISH THE OTHER FOR ASKING FOR IT!!!! YOU WON THE GAME JUST GO IN THE LOCKER ROOM OR SIDELINE AND ENJOY IT.

Short, simple, and to the point: We congratulate University of Oregon, their athletic director, coaching staff, as well as the Pac 10 for the swift action taken on behalf of the abhorrent behavior displayed by LeGarrette Blount and his 'totally losing it' as displayed on the field at Bronco Stadium. Any person who either saw the altercation or Blount's disgusting display of humanity knows only too well that he deserved the punishment he received. If Blount would have squared up, toe-to-toe, and issued his punch in gentlemenly fashion I doubt, as many of us do, that he would have received near the season long suspension; however, to 'sucker-punch' moreover, take your best shot at a person who has their head turned, not expecting to be hit is cheap and reckless. One more issue: apparently UO has had problems with Blount earlier in spring training inasmuch as this was his second or third suspension he's received in the short time he's been at Oregon.

Ok, I'm assuming Equality has never been to a major sporting event or ever followed any kind of team with a passion, I watched the replay over and over again on every major new outlet and never saw a fan throw a punch @ Blount. So buy what "Equality" is saying any fan that hekels or taunts a player in a game should be "throw out"? Come-on get with the program if this was the case you would only sell tickets for about 1/10th of capacity of any sporting event. Blount did it, he lost his head, and now has to pay for his actions. Good job to the Ducks and PAC-10 for doing what is right and good job Broncos for shutting the Ducks down.

How can they make an example out of only one person. Boise coach even says "takes two to tango". Why is Hout not being suspended for his unsportsmanlike conduct? What kind of fans does Boise have going after and taunting other players? This is a collegiate level sport and those fans should really be not allowed back the rest of the year- you can clearly see one of them swinging at him and prior to that yelling F... you. How can the University condone any of that. Why is Boise not standing up and taking responsibility. Makes Boise look pretty low themselves.

There are no words that should get a response like a sucker punch when he wasn't looking. This guy obviously has much deeper issues and should never be allowed to play again. What a simple minded coward.

Dirty Duck This bum is not worthy of playing another minute. The Ducks should know fans do not approve of this behavior.
