I pick Stefan over Edward, primarily because as a person I can relate to him more. Edward is a vegetarian vampire who has conquered his urge for human blood, Stefan also thinks he has but when both are forced by circumstances to suck human blood, Stefan finds it difficult to return to his normal self as it his instinct to suck human blood. In other words there is always a darkness lurking, he is good but has flaws, unlike Edward who is made to feel immune to his natural urges. As a human being I do not want to relate to an ultra perfect character.

ATTENTION TWIHARDS: Vampire Diaries is NOT copying Twilight; The Vampire Diaries was published waaaaay before Stephenie Meyer was even dreaming about Twilight.
Second: Bella is shallow and mopey and has no personality whatsoever. All she does is talk about how hot Edward is and that's the only reason she's with him. Unfortunately that's not love, that's lust.
Third: When it comes to the relationship that Edward and Bella share I can quite easily say that it compairs to unadulterated emotional abuse. Edward never leaves Bella on her own; he watches her when she sleeps when she doesnt really know him....
Number Four: How can you guys look to Bella as a role model? She has no dreams, no passion, no drive, all she wants to do is be with Edward. This isn't healthy. At least Elena can live without Stefan and doesnt need Stefan to do everything either for her or with her.

thanx loads. Im really looking forward to season 2, they said damon gets funnier than ever!!! Hes the best charahter on the flipping show!! And elena starts to love damon and they find out how she is relatedd to katherine. And jeremy survies. There is also going to be a new character, mayor lockwoods little brother , so we will see how he goes. And i aslo heard that John Gilbert doesnt die!!! But most importantly,, i found out that Damon is not the one falling for Katherine, its stefan ehile damons trying to plot against her!! OMFG I CANT WAIT SEASON2 IS GOING TO BE WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh please twilight was not all that and a bag of chips.. edward did not get laid once again and left bella hanging.. jacob still a sucker for bella .. i really hope damon makes another funny remark about twilight when he dissed edward and bella on season one and as usual no respond back from any twilight actors who,s above all these twilight fans who always have a horse shoe stuck up there ass when they assume twilight rules? after they see another full season of vd again.. im taking that horse shoe out of there asses and banging it over there heads with it.. stop living in fantasy> sept 9th you see it!!!!!

I love Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, and if you had asked me this question before i had watched TVD i would have said twilight. Millions of people love twilight, no doubt about that, its a good written story. But u said your point is to prove twilight is better, but thats not a point its a opinion. And you cant prove that because its not a fact. And btw have u even watched TVD??? I think you should, because if you love twilight you would love that too. The most unique thing about twilight is the main character Isabella marie sawn.
A shy quiet and very kind girl.she is described as too being plain.

Twilight 10000, you dont deserve a point of veiw if the only thing you see is you and btw i doubt you have eve watched the vampire diaries, il count ur opinion when you have watched atleast 2 episodes ive watched all of them and i have watched the twilight saga i thought nothing could beat it, then tvd came along, and it doesnt belong in the trash, because where would the milions of veiwers worldwide go??? Dont get into a arguemnt because of a tv show and a movie, everyone is entitled to a opinion, so say ours and dont mind others. I HAVE READ BOTH SIDES, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES AND THE TWILIGHT SAGA AND WATCHED BOTH OF THEM. Ive watched all of the twilight movies, and all of the vampire diaries episodes. And my conclusion is, The Vampire Diaries beat teilight by a amile, let me give you why.
The vampire diaries characters are soooo much more developed
Elena isnt always moping about after stefan, unlike bella.
Elena has something called, personality.
I love Edward Cullen, but he is nothing, NOTHING, compared to Damon Salvatore.
Its like comaring chocolate to brocolli!!!!
The vampire diaries are muuuuuuuuuuuuuch more action.
I love the wtilight books, but hate the fact that wehn bella says she loves edward, shell never hurt him, she walks all the way to jacob. I mean WTF??

@vampirelover> well as far as true blood goes: i dont see the show setting a good example for young teens or mature adults as a vampire characteristic on a sexual content.. it does not fit the resemblances of twilight or vampire diaries at all period.. if anything!! it would be twilight or vampire diaries that are making hits. both have the quality of being alike with class.. if you consider true blood bieng a hit?? than i dont get how twilight would be a hit but not vampire diaries?? it dont make any sense?? unless its a emotional of dislike or hatred??> please dont take this the wrong way!! im just trying to reason with you..
i was checking out some season 2 spoiler and yes its going to be a blast.. ill tell you the scoop: jeremy is going to be a vampire,tyler lock wood is going to be a wolf which those two are getting it on.. katherine is being more involed which no longer triangle love between steph and elena and damon.. bonnie will be one bad ass sorcerer.. more flash back of anna, damon will be the funniest as always.. its going to be another long season again.. i cant wait
