Jennifer Hudson, whose live has been struck by tragedy this year, welcomed a joyous new addition to her family late Monday when she gave birth to her first child.
The Academy Award winner and American Idol reject and fiancé David Otunga are proud parents of David Otunga, Jr., who weighed in at seven pounds, 14 ounces.
Hudson, 27, never officially announced her pregnancy, although speculation began among celebrity gossip publications as she wore increasingly loose-fitting tops.
In early June, the open secret of a pregnant Hudson was revealed when longtime pal Felicia Fields admitted to having gone to her gender-neutral baby shower.
The future Mr. and Mrs. David Otunga are the proud parents of David Jr.!
Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga, a.k.a. "Punk" from I Love New York 2, got engaged last September, and waited to find out the kid's gender until his birth.
This news comes eight months after the slayings of Jennifer's mother, brother and seven-year-old cousin. Her brother-in-law, William Balfour, is in custody.

JHud has a nice voice, and her personal story is tragic, but the girl has the personality of a paperclip. THere was a reason she was voted off Idol, and it wasn't because of her voice. Sorry girlfriend.

I would like to know what type of personality you think you are showing about yourself right now. Class is something you don't have of the least. Jennifer Hudson is fabulous. I hope you don't think your hating ass comments are going to break Hudson fame. Let me give you a little history. Truth to be told their was very bad weather going on throughout her hometown. The phones and everything was down for about two days. Yes, she lost but for Jennifer it was a blessing. It is simple for me I don't know why I am explaning to a jack ass in the first place. You are not a Jhud FAN so stop coming to her site. I don't know your mental history, but baby you need some serious help.

That is so wrong. I wish that people would get lifes and stop hatin on people. If u need some help, go and pray about it. Jennfier Hudson has a great voice and an even better personality. HINCE the fact that she is a star today. God didnt mean for her to be a star from American Idol, DREAMGIRLS was her big break. So work that out, FUFILLED. Thanks, Norma. Jennifer, don't be another Terry McMillan! That guy is as gay as they come!! (and who would want to date a loser from that ridiculous show, anyway?) I hate to see a sista fallin' for the wrong guy just because a good black man is hard to come by.
Jenn is a curvaceous, hot, talented woman. She needs to keep looking. It's better to raise a baby by oneself than to raise a baby plus one over-sized, adult man-baby!
