Wrong. the whole idea of slander is defaming someone in such a way whereas you cause them to suffer in name, reputation, goodwill and the like which causes economic damage. One's estate can probably sue you if they could prove that your false words (calling a guy child molester when he was acquitted of such charges) causes the estate difficulty in raising, funds, settling accounts and debts and paying off legacies. The Jackson Estate is in debt and owes lots of taxes, and probably has an army of attorneys assigned to it hence King's comments were stupid in the situation given. Some states do permit suits for libel or slander to be brought on behalf of the estate of a deceased person in some circumstances. Texas, Rhode island and california come to mind. Just because someone is acquitted does not mean they are not guilty. Case in point, O.J.. The reverse is also true. Numerous people have been executed in this country who were later proven to be innocent. Accordingly, our legal system is deeply flawed and inherently unjust. It is usually the people who have money, like Michael Jackson, who get away with their crimes, because that is the nature of a capitalistic society. Had Michael not been a wealthy celebrity he would be in prison, for a judiciary system also imprisons black males at a higher rate than whites. On a positive note, he would probably be alive, for he would not access to the pain killers which may have contributed toward his death.

Accordingly, he was not, nor could ever be, confused with a true musician. You know, someone who actually reads and writes music with more than three different chords and a nonsensical riff. Um, I'm in Thailand and I agree there is too much media coverage on MJ's death. However I do find Peter King's comment to lack crucial facts and credibility. I believe that the MJ was found not guilty and the fact the child he "molested" came out and said it was his father's scheme to make some money. I myself find that MJ was a weirdo with all his surgery and stuff, but you can't deny his impact on this world and I believe is worth commemorating (to an extend).
