I'm sorry Jackson died, but the photo is legitimate news. It shows his last moments and is not degrading. Stop protecting me from what YOU think I shouldn't see. If it makes you uncomfortable then don't look at it. It reminds me of how we sanitized the Iraq war. There are people out there that don't understand the carnage of war and the huge amount of American blood spilled in Iraq because we make it nice and clean. Maybe if some people see their idol in this way they will think twice before abusing prescription drugs if that is what ends up being the cause of death. One of the major functions of mass media is to warn the public of dangers and thell the truth.

It is apalling at least.. yet even more disheartening, is the thought of where he will be spending eternity. Why are we so obsessed with Michael's photo? with his death?? Why does a person with such celebrity have to die before the world over makes it a point to say "we loved"? Suddenly the doors of acceptance swing open! The people begin caring about his health, his children, his family... & backtracking to what "should have" & "could have" been done. The entirety of the coverage surrounding this man's death is fueled by nothing more than greed; quite effectively I might add. Somehow after a person is dead we feel that finally we are able to peer into places that have been unknown, & attempt to gain a deeper insight to a life that made little sense. I find his story to be sad & lonely- & if he died doped up on painkillers who could really blame him? To endure the scrutiny of the public eye; & get your grandest applause at the turn of your death. To be surrounde

if the picture was taken inside the ambulance then he was already dead if it was taken before, like an hour before then the picture was taken by the doc to can sell it later on an d MJ was still alive.
But oyu got screwed thats for sure!
500.000 dollars for a pic opf MJ dead?
you msut be delirious
he was withotu breahgting and without heart beat since hours when they first put him in the ambulance.
MJ was unconscious with no heart beat and no respiration for 30 minutes befroe he begin to try ot foudn a phone to call 911.-
From what he said it took him another 30 minutes ot get a phone so by the time h get soemone to call 911, MJ was without life: heart beat and no breahting , sionce 60 minutes= one entire hour.
6 minutes alter the paramedic were there and spend 40 minutes trying to recuscitate MJ
thats 1 hour and 40 minutes plus time to get out of the ambnulnace and come inside the hosue an dos on.
then they have to leave the house with MJ body, so we are to 1 hour and 50 minu

I just came across the story about the cover "tribute"and I have to say. No matter if he was a public figure he was still and human being with flaws and failings. No one is perfect and that is what makes us human. It is a sad time for his family and close friends and to have this lasting memorial picture plastered for all the world to see shows just how little human life is valued. 500,000 dollars or 30 pieces of silver(not comparing MJ to jESUS either). But a betrayal of common decency for this man or anyone going to his death under any circumstances is a private thing no matter how public some people want to make it. But just remember whoever took this pic, karma will get you in end also. So enjoy your blood money and the cold comfort it gives you. God have mercy on your soul, you'll need it. OK

To Shannen-Ashlea,
You hope the Jackson family says something to stop images like this? The Jackson family never said a word to stop this crazy rollercoaster ride this poor man was on, so his father abused him? Why did the Jackson family, his mother of all people NOT say anything at the time, why not stop it when it was happening? The Jackson family has no right to speak now, it is a little bit too late, the man is dead. They did not speak on his behalf when he was alive, what good will it be to MJ for this family to speak now?
Get real!
July 3rd, 2009 3:56 PM
Let's get real. Death is a fact, it comes to all of us, MJ was a public persona, so what if his picture has been posted for the world to see? These are the facts, folks! People have spoken against tabloid magazines and tv,yet they are the only ones reporting the truth at this point - the media as always, is sugarcoating the facts or not passing them along, and the rest of the celebrities that publicly made fun of MJ are now claiming him as one of their own and they just "lend him" to us - Please! Don't be such a hipocrite is all I can say about all these people who are now claiming to have loved this very strange and complicated human being.
Yes, he is dead and yes, we are sad that he died so young, but let's get real, we will all face this fact one day. I applaud this magazine for being courageous. PS: no one complained when pics of Brittney Spears being taken to the looney bin in an ambulance were spattered all over the tabloids and the internet. Equal coverage for ALL celeb

Thats a stupid image to put on a magazine cover! Me and my friends noticed it this morning and it was to much. Show some respect towards him! He had a bad life from abuse from his fatrther, being accused of child abuse and sexual abuse etc. I hope the Jackson family say something to stop images like this leeking onto the web and papers!

I think you guys are as bad as OK magazine for reposting this picture on the web. Let the man rest in peace. This is not the way millions of fans want to remember MJ. There is a new song we have out as a tribute to MJ, it features The Game and Chris Brown. Listen to it. That is the way to pay tribute to a great talent. He will surely be missed. REST IN PEACE MJ!! WE ALL LOVE YOU!!

First of all, the NY Daily News bought the rights to this photo last week and it was on page 2 so many many people have already seen this photo before you people came along and posted it. To see it in a newspaper is kind of expected as they go to new lows to obtain any info and/or photos..but for you bloggers to post this on your own sites and call it disrespectful and atrocious youre just on the same bandwagon. If you dont want to contradict yourselves, at least link the photo. Morons.

Since Michael was mostly plastic from the neck up as a result of his various surgeries, I think they should melt his head, make legos out of him, and let little kids play with him the rest of their lives!

THAT IS VERY VERY VERY DISRESPECTFULL...i wish that Janet and the family would sue the hell out of them...They should feel ashamed...truth is...THE MAN WAS DEAD ON THAT COVER...i don't like the fact of them distributing...i hate the fact that many Americans hate MJ..its sad that it shows how much "OK Magazine" has hate for MJ!

I understand that this is a news story and an honest magazine just doing it's job. HOWEVER, this story is quite sensitive. I know that, as a fan of Michael, I do not want to see him in his dying hours. His passing is still hard enough. A nice headline with a pic of him on stage or something is quite enough. Get another cover, OK?

omg that is so sad and heartless showing this pic and it is so sad how ok magazine could go and take a pic of michael like that there is no privacy or there is no respect in the world anymore
