Look, there's no need to do personal attacks against Miley or anything, but I do not think she will be good in this part. She has a great voice, but as an actress? It just doesn't work out for her. Hair color isn't everything but her personality just doesn't work for the role as Laurel

I can't believe they think Miley would be a good Laural?! NO WAY! They need someone that really fits the part otherwise the movie will be terrible. Please whoever is picking the main role of Laural needs to pick someone better then miley cyrus!

I don't mean to be an arse but Cyrus is NOT the fit for Laurel! Blonde? No. Southern? NOT SUPPOSED TO BE! Even if it that's a small detail, come on, it interferes with her acting and definitely doesn't scream "Laurel." If they expect this film (especially with Cyrus) to be booming like Twilight..SOMEONE NEEDS A WAKE UP CALL. That's what they thought about Percy Jackson, and the actors from that movie don't have an ounce of papparazzi! Either way, Disney better not ruin this movie or I'll be pissed. Maybe Cyrus can prove herself but her hair needs to be blonde at least :(

Damn it! She doesn't fit in that movie. AnnaSophia Robb would be perfect for it, but Miley!? Oh God, no! I adore books, but she playing Laurel will destroy the hole movie!

I just started reading the books and I didn't exactly picture Miley playing the role of Laurel. Laurel is quiet and dainty, whereas Miley is too bubbly. I'm not sure if she will be able to convey Laurel's reticent character successfully. Her facial features are too round to play Laurel. Miley is best at playing a fun-loving kind of a girl. Most actors stick to one kind of character that they play (with exceptions like Johnny Depp) and Miley doesn't seem to be one of those multi-character actors. If she does do well in her movie, then good for her. ^-^ I'll give her a chance. Still.... I think someone else would be better for the role.

NO! I've heard from heaps of friends that wings is a really good book. I haven't read about, but my friend has explained to me. Miley does not fit the role. Anna Sophia Robb from bridge to terabithia should play the role. She looks about 15 years old.

I think anna sophia robb would fit the role as well, ans Dakota fanning. They are both really good actors, and they fit the description. PLEASE MILEY NO!

Man, I fell in love with these books and was overly excited to find out that 'Wings' may be brought to the big screen...but if they are casting Miley Cyrus as 'Laurel' forget it! I won't watch it, not even out of mere curiosity. I'll just stick to the books and ignore the movie.

Personally, I think she would be awful in the role. I adored the books and at first i was excited to hear they were making a movie but if Miley is in it I may not see it at all just so the story isn't ruined for me. I'm really hoping that since this is a fairly old announcement and now shes trying to leave Disney and change her image she'll change her ming about the roll.

Maybe April should rewrite, because I'm getting sick and tired of she's such a slut and she doesn't even have the right hair colour!
People, don't you get it now? Just because of a little wrong word, and that you hate Miley, then think that it's your book, and think that Miley isn't Laurel!
People call Miley the slut, but now I think that everyones a slut here now, including me.

totally agree with u Karina she'll ruin everything and FYI its not gonna be as big as twilight with her in it. You have to like the cast to like the movie and since she's playing the lead even worse. Most people hate her and the only people who seem to like her are hannah montana fans who r kids. they should ban her from playing the part anybody would be better than her, please change it. She's not good for wings or the movie or anything to do with it. she also a total bad influence and u seen wat shes done. i hate miley cyrus.

this will not help miley break from her disney role!she's permenently scarred because of her Hannah Montana alter-ego.she doesn't even fit the role. shes too round and bubbly-looking.Laurel is small, dainty, and so NOT MILEY CIRUS!! Dakota fanning would do a better job. she fits the discription, but i dont think she should be cast either

Okay, so. I agree, NO MILEY. please, please, please. I am so addicted to Wings and Spells. I have read them both at least 200 times, honest to God. I adore everything about these books, and I have read thousands, including Twilight, Harry Potter, Vampire Diaries, The Hunger Games, Vampire Academy, Wicked Lovely, and so on and so forth. and out of EVERY SINGLE BOOK I have read, Wings and Spells are by far superior. They are my dream, my escape for life. and I swear that if Miley plays Laurel, I will not go an see the movie, and I will never pick up these books again. I love her in the Last Song, and in Hannah Montana, and her singing, but she is NOT, I repeat, NOOOOTTTTTTT ANYWHERE NEAR CLOSE TO LAUREL!!! for so many reasons. and I will cry, and a piece of me will go missing if she plays Laurel.

I'm not to thrilled about Miley playing Laurel BUT I think that she CAN indeed pull it off. Yeah Miley wears makeup...they can take it off. Yeah Miley acts like "a rock star" as someone said...she can tone it down. Someone said that Laurel is blond... she can dye her hair. You guys see where I am taking this. It looks like Miley WILL be Laurel so I guess it is best to suck it up and see if she can get the job done!

I can only say: I AGREE... It's great book.. Miley just doesn't FIT in this movie.. I don't see her as Laurel. Laurel supposed or rather - SHOULD be delicate. I can say: "LIKE FLOWER" and Miley is.. "MILEY". She promoted herself as.. err.. how can I say this.. as "ROCK-star"? I don't see Laurel in connection with word "ROCK".. I see Miley as funny, brave person but also as strong, dominate and "open" character. This personality is not Laurel from the book.. I don't hate Miley but I just think that It's not the role for her. And I heard that she wanted to separate herself from DISNEY, or rather ABANDON her DISNEY-IMAGE and this role won't help her with that. If she take that role she will ruin her career and all her hard work.. Sorry Miley.. P.S. Sorry you all for my english.. I'm from Poland and I don't speak great in english. ;)

Why Miley is going to ruin this movie! why does the movie industry have to screw over too many good books? the books are good but they cast bad people and bucher the book!!! their doing it with Miley she is not right for this role!!! These books are great, but I'm afraid that having Miley as the main character in the movies could ruin them! There are sooo many better choices. I REALLY hope they can get a better fit for Laurel - PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miley could not pull off this role. i read somewhere that she was filming in 2011. how is she supposed to play a 15 yr old girl when she's a slutty 18 yr old. and comparing with the book, her tatoo might show- total turn off!
