We were a bit surprised when Jon Gosselin started dating Hailey Glassman.
According to the ditzy, tag-team action lovin' party-animal pothead, she was caught a bit off guard by the sudden romance with the father of eight as well.
"If you had told me a few months ago, I wouldn't have believed you," says Hailey Glassman, 22, of her new boyfriend, who really is a unique catch.
She says she developed feelings for Jon Gosselin – a longtime family friend who recently split from his wife Kate after a decade of marriage – while he was nursing his broken heart and crashing at her parents' New York home in May.
Hailey's father is a plastic surgeon who performed Kate Gosselin's post-sextuplets tummy tuck operation, as seen on Jon and Kate Plus 8. The irony.
"He was so strong," Glassman says. "I admire him."
She refutes rumors that she's engaged to Jon Gosselin, but says she's having a great time with her beau, who just scored his own bachelor pad in NYC.
Hailey Glassman cannot contain her excitement these days.
"We're always laughing and joking," she says dreamily. "We watch movies, play pool and ping pong. We laugh a lot because I beat him at everything."
She adds of Jon, "He's a great cook. He cooks roasted veggies with special seasoning and sauces, and he grills pineapple with a butter concoction."
In a not-so-subtle dig at the grating Kate Gosselin, Hailey Glassman said this when asked by People what she thinks he likes most about her:
"I'm a huge believer in not controlling someone. I wull give my opinion but tell him to do what he wants to do. He said to me, 'I'm just not used to having an option.' I told him life is all about options."
And bong hits.
Perhaps the #1 perk of dating still-married Jon? Her parents approve.
"They love him," says Hailey Glassman. "They think of him as part of the family. They think things happen for a reason. The most important thing is if someone fits in with my family ... This is perfect. It just fits."
