In an incomprehensible, depressing state of human affairs, anti-gay demonstrators protested Adam Lambert at an American Idol concert in San Jose on Sunday.
Members of the hate-filled, close-minded, controversial Westboro Baptist Church were spotted outside the HP Pavilion, carrying signs that criticized homosexuals and chanting about Lambert's sexuality.
The season eight runner-up revealed his sexual preference in an interview with Rolling Stone last month, a few weeks after he finished second to Kris Allen on the Fox series.
Keep smiling, Adam Lambert. You have far more fans than critics.
Fortunately, Lambert's fellow American Idol finalists have his back. Michael Sarver told fans inside the venue that his friend wasn't fazed by the idiots outside.
"Funny how people think it's a good idea to mess with a big Texan and his AI family," Sarver Twetted. "Adam is just fine, shakes it off and so should we.
"We are together in this thing. You mess with one you mess with all ten. We are strong and we are 1. For those outside protesting I say do not judge less ye be judged yourself. Guys don't mind these people, we are a strong family."
Seriously, who does such a thing?!? These protesters had just one goal in mind: to spread hate. We pity them and their sorry existence.

That's so disrespectful and completely F'd up. Some people in this world just should never have been born. Adam is amazing, crazy/beautiful voice. For those so-called "Church goers" they should fall off the face of the earth and do everyone a huge favor.

THOSE PEOPLE MAKE ME SOO MAD >:( they dont deserve to find love if they try to prevent others from it. good for adam and the rest of the contestants!!! it makes me sad to see how far weve come in america, california more specifically. i live in san jose and i am ashamed to even admit it. This shouldn't bother Adam, because as Gay Americans, we have come to EXPECT this vile behavior from Heterosexuals. You know, the folks that CREATE all the Gay people, then spend the rest of their lives abusing and degrading them... THOSE Heterosexuals.
And make no mistake: To Heterosexuals who are NOT anti-gay, not standing up in defiance to this vile and disgusting behavior makes you a part of it.
Morality indeed.

Someone who was there commented on this incident. It was NOT about Adam.
I was there in San Jose - stood in line by these protesters for at least 45 minutes and they were NOT protesting Adam, Alison, Kris or anybody else. They were reading from the Bible about putting worldly things before God and worshipping "false idols", etc etc. It was Michael Sarver, attention whore who started the Twitter thing that it was about Adam. A sign that says Jesus Loves You is not anti-gay - you see that EVERYWHERE in Ca. The big sign said God Will Judge You and included "money lovers, hypocrits, sports nuts, sex addicts, witches", I can't remember what all, but their objection was to the word "idol", which I guess I can understand a little. I'm sure they have never seen an episode and have very little understanding of current cultural atmosphere. If they would have been saying anything about Adam I guarantee you that they would not have lived to protest anywhere else haha we would have smote them down lol. Peace.

OMG! I totally love Michael Sarver now! I mean before from what little you got to see of him on American Idol and I mean little there wasn't much to like about him. He can sing. He has pipes and I am expecting him to go country. But my cousin said at an autograph signing folks were just talking trash about Michael Sarver and calling him weak and ignorant and how he was a dumb country hick. This is Karma because Adam Lambert stopped the crowd from talking bad about Michael Sarver. Adam Lambert also stopped the crowd from ragging on Megan Joy with her Caw Caw event. Adam stood up for those two and then told my cousin and her friends just how remarkable all of the Top 10 were and what great music ability they all had. From what she said when he got done singing the praises of Matt and Anoop and Sarver and Joy his handlers were dragging him away. So now to hear that Michael Sarver is standing up for Adam Lambert that is really touching. Heck I'm buying Michael Sarver music when it hits the stands. Anyone willing to back Adam Lambert has me as a listener.

wow that is f`d up right there--that so called "church" is just spreading hate to the world--but that is all that that "church" does...GOO MICHEAL SARVER--ANYONE WHO BACKS ADAM UP IM A FAN OF.anyway who would want to fight adam anyway?[i know this is off subject]i mean hes really tall--almost always wearing boots--and has a whole group of people by his side anyway! id be scared if i were them.

That makes me really sad and I just have no tolerance for anti-gays. My friend and I were talking about this and we are just appauled. There is nothing wrong with having pride in your favorite sport team or wanting to make enough money to live comfortably and maybe have some tucked away for emergencies. There is nothing wrong with loving your brother or sister and yes we all are our brother's keeper so we should protect one another from anti-gays. Words can hurt. I'm sure Adam has had to deal with that type of hate growing up and seeing what life is really like out there for gays. It is times like this when you see hate and bigotry for other human beings that you need to rise up and take a stand. I'm surprised at Michael Sarver doing such that. For some reason I didn't think Sarver had it in him to do the right thing. Yes he is a big man but it takes a strong will, a fighter, a hero if you will to stand up to hate. I can see real men doing so like Kris Allen and Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai because of how smart Anoop is. I mean Anoop is analytical and he can use his intelligence against the wrong in this world. Matt G is all heart and I bet his is bleeding to see this kind of injustice in the world. Kris Allen is just an all around nice guy and any dude would want him as a buddy to hang with. I can say now that Michael Sarver stood up to help protect and back Adam that he has gained major points in my book. Kudos to Michael Sarver. Of course I expect Lil Rounds and Allison to back Adam Lambert up. Both Lil Rounds and Allison could recieve just as much hate responses for their nationality so they would be able to relate more to Adam than say Megan Joy. People with small minds don't get the concept of All men are created equal. People fear what they don't understand. Adam Lambert will hopefully change all of this in his music, his lyrics, his living. He doesn't have to be the Gay Poster Child he can send his messages through his music.

Not mentioned were the AT&T protesters. These protesters, like myself believe that Adam won Idol except for the voting in Arkansas. When you consider that it would take 3,750 telephones power texting at ten hits a dial to create 40 million votes in 4 hours it is likely Arkansas stole Adam's title. Seven out of seven tour performances prove that Adam is the most popular and has the most fans, even at the conservative salt lake City venue. Idol needs to give Adam an apology for allowing Arkansas votes to count.
